WWE Raw Predictions: Drew McIntyre Will Screw Bobby Lashley
By Mark Justice
2.) Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair [Grudge Match]
Our Julian Cannon asserted that WWE Raw is the perfect spot for Rhea Ripley. Indeed, Raw is the brand for Ripley to get her revenge against Charlotte Flair for her NXT Women’s Championship loss at WrestleMania 36. While it would make sense to save this match for a bigger stage like WrestleMania, Ripley has to even the score sooner rather than later on a show that has ruined more NXT call-up careers than anyone can count.
However, Ripley is not the only superstar who needs WrestleMania redemption against Charlotte. Asuka also needs to redeem herself after losing her undefeated streak to Charlotte at WrestleMania 34. Asuka has never won a match at WrestleMania since that day and it would be huge if she were to retain the title against Charlotte Flair this year. Asuka (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley sounds like an ideal WrestleMania match for the Raw Women’s Title.
Prediction: Rhea Ripley
1.) The Miz (c) vs. Bobby Lashley [WWE Championship]
Our Dorathy Gass expressed her hopes of Bobby Lashley dethroning The Miz on this episode. Although her optimism is appreciated in her remarkable series, it is more characteristic of WWE to book a non-finish that leaves fans with a cliffhanger to talk about in the build up to FastLane. A title change involving the WWE Championship tends to be unlikely on any episode of Raw, and it would make sense for Drew McIntyre to Claymore Bobby Lashley to force a disqualification.
McIntyre wants his revenge and that would be his way of getting it. Of course, there are many other factors involved here. Sheamus might stop McIntyre, and Braun Strowman might even interfere after losing to Lashley last week. Clearly, this match is not as clear-cut as it may seem. Many may believe that Lashley will just squash The Miz, but The Miz is very crafty and could find a way to escape with the WWE Championship without actually defeating Lashley.
Whether it’s via disqualification or countout, Lashley may win the match but will not win the WWE Championship due to champions’ advantage. This would set up a triple threat WWE Championship match amongst McIntyre, Lashley, and The Miz at WWE FastLane 2021. This will be Peacock’s first PPV, and the WWE might want a big title change for that PPV. Henceforth, delaying Lashley’s big win until FastLane would be a foreseeable business move. Stay tuned.
Prediction: Bobby Lashley (DQ)
