WWE SmackDown Predictions: Daniel Bryan Will Embrace The Cage
By Mark Justice
On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, there are no scheduled segments, but there is one scheduled match that was announced on Talking Smack last week: Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso in a Steel Cage match. If Daniel Bryan wins, he will punch his ticket to WWE FastLane 2021 to battle Roman Reigns for the. coveted Universal Championship in what would be a FastLane 2015 rematch. Edge, the 2021 Royal Rumble winner, will battle the champion at WrestleMania 37.
Indeed, the WWE has already kickstarted its road to WrestleMania 37 as it builds towards Fastlane. Like Elimination Chamber, Fastlane is another pivotal roadblock to Mania that could change who the champions are and what the potential matchups could be for the show. With that being said, it’s now time to preview and predict the matches and segments that will occur on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on March 5, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on FOX. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.
5.) Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy [Tag Match]
On last week’s WWE SmackDown, Street Profits defeated King Corbin and Sami Zayn while Alpha Academy defeated Mysterios. It would make sense for the winners of these matches to battle in a tag team match that would make clear who could be next for Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode’s SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Street Profits will win to continue their momentum and gradual pursuit of the titles, but they will get attacked by Alpha Academy after the match.
Our Chris Jeter already argued that the Street Profits storyline exposed how thin WWE has made the SmackDown Tag Team Division. The storyline referenced here is basically Street Profits’ gradual pursuit of the title, as already mentioned. Street Profits plan on winning every match until Sonya Deville gives them a tag title shot rematch against Ziggler and Roode. They will probably get their wish at FastLane, but it seems that a fatal four way is being built up for WrestleMania 37.
Prediction: Street Profits
