WWE SmackDown Predictions: Bayley Will Reveal Her WrestleMania Opponent
By Mark Justice
On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, there are neither scheduled segments, nor scheduled matches. As for WWE Fastlane 2021, there are already two scheduled matches from SmackDown’s recent bookings: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship and Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax (w/Reginald) (c) vs. Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Indeed, the WWE has already kickstarted its road to WrestleMania 37 as it builds towards Fastlane. Like Elimination Chamber, Fastlane is another pivotal roadblock to ‘Mania that could change who the champions are and what the potential matchups could be for the show. With that being said, it’s now time to preview and predict the matches and segments that will occur on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on March 12, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on FOX. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.
5.) Street Profits vs. Sami Zayn & King Corbin [Tag Match]
On last week’s WWE SmackDown, King Corbin defeated Montez Ford via pinfall with the End of Days after Sami Zayn’s helpful distraction, but Angelo Dawkins defaced Zayn via pinfall with the small package after Corbin left Zayn high and dry. Clearly, WWE is planting the seeds for a dysfunctional tag team between Zayn and Corbin. Team Hell No usually comes to mind as the prototypical dysfunctional tag team that became successful and popular.
Daniel Bryan and Kane were heel and babyface, respectively, at the time, so it is a bit different with Zayn and Corbin since they are both heels. At some point, they will likely pick up a win together as a way of solidifying a new addition to the infinitesimal SmackDown Tag Team Division. Getting a win back over former SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Street Profits from SmackDown two weeks ago should somewhat boost their credibility as a tag team.
Prediction: Sami Zayn & King Corbin
