2.) Seth Rollins vs. Buddy Murphy [Grudge Match]

On last week’s WWE SmackDown, Cesaro defeated Buddy Murphy via submission with the Sharpshooter. This was Murphy’s first match in months, and it ended in about five minutes. It is safe to say that Murphy was officially buried. Tapping out in a five-minute match is not a good look for a former Cruiserweight Champion. Since Seth Rollins was aggravated with Murphy’s presence last week, he will very likely battle Murphy on this episode.

Murphy is clearly being used as a buffer of momentum for Rollins and Cesaro. Rollins and Cesaro will either battle at Fastlane or WrestleMania, and the WWE probably decided to book someone for them to beat as a way of making statements to each other and thereby enhancing their individual momentums before their big match. As a result, Rollins will effortlessly defeat Murphy on this episode in about the same time it took Cesaro to defeat Murphy last week.

1.) Big E (c) vs. Apollo Crews [Intercontinental Championship]

On last week’s WWE SmackDown, Apollo Crews continued his character development as a proud Nigerian by introducing new guards and weapons. Our Phillip Lindsey has already reflected on Apollo Crews and wrestling’s toxic relationship with ethnicity. While that is very important to keep in mind, it is also quite exciting to see Apollo Crews confidently embrace his identity, culture, and ethnic background on his path to winning the Intercontinental Championship.

This new direction with Crews’ character makes him more unique and stands out from the rest of the superstars in the midcard. He took Big E out of commission with the steel steps two weeks ago and announced on Talking Smack that Big E will be back on this week’s episode. It will be interesting to see what Big E’s response will be to the new Apollo Crews. Nonetheless, if the title match is booked on this episode, Crews will win the title to set up a rematch for WrestleMania.

Special: Who Will Bayley Reveal As Her WrestleMania Opponent?

On last week’s WWE SmackDown, Bayley hosted her “Ding Dong! Hello!” show and saw something written on her card that elicited a reaction from her. Many fans have been wondering what Bayley will actually be doing at WrestleMania. Some have suggested that she will probably win the Women’s Battle Royal, but the longest reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion should be in a more significant storyline for the grandest stage of them all.

Will she wrestle Kayla Braxton? Will she wrestle Renee Young? Will she wrestle Michael Cole? Bayley has teased all of these matches, and maybe her WrestleMania opponent was revealed on her card. This was a neat tease, and she will probably welcome her WrestleMania opponent to her show in the next few weeks to build up her feud. Michael Cole is 1-0 at WrestleMania, and it would be funny to see Bayley break the streak and defeat Cole in his famous orange singlet. Stay tuned.
