Even as the WWE looks for ways to host 45,000 at WrestleMania in a few weeks, NXT seems to be dealing with another potential outbreak of COVID-19 as multiple changes have hit this week’s taping.

According to a Fightful Select news report, some talents have been pulled from the show completely, while others were informed to quarantine. It is mentioned in the report that this may stem from a meeting that was called on Thursday in which WWE PC trainees were asked to attend. Due to some individuals not taking consistent precautions, multiple names were impacted.

This comes at a time in which news has leaked that Vince McMahon is upset at the lack of precautions that some talents are taking. Steve Cutler, a former member of the Forgotten Sons, was cut earlier in 2021 due to contracting COVID-19. Throughout the global pandemic, WWE has been hit by multiple outbreaks that have led to last-minute changes of shows and frustrations from some of the talent involved.

The seriousness of this situation becomes even more apparent as the WWE prepares to host WrestleMania 37. News broke over the weekend that the promotion wants to have 45,000 people in attendance on both nights, which would make it the largest attended event in the United States since the pandemic outbreak started in 2020. Event authorities for Raymond James Stadium have yet to respond to the request, but this potential situation in NXT may not bode well for overall perceptions.
