Impact Wrestling: IMPACT! moving back to Thursday nights

As of next week, wrestling will be on cable TV every single weeknight now that IMPACT! is moving back to Thursdays, beginning on April 8 at 8 PM ET on AXS TV.

Thursday nights at 8 PM have long been associated with Impact Wrestling (y’know after Thunder Thursday wasn’t a thing anymore). Due to NXT most likely moving to Tuesdays, this is a smart move. There’s also AEWDark, which usually lasts into Impact’s first hour.

“IMPACT Wrestling has years of history airing on Thursdays, which was the night for high-energy, action-packed matches, starring some of the most high-profile stars in pro wrestling history,” said IMPACT Executive Vice-President Scott D’Amore. “Nothing is changing from that front when IMPACT! jumps back to Thursday nights.” (h/t Impact Wrestling’s press release)

Curiously, their first night back on Thursday nights is going up against Night Two of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver. The main event of IMPACT is a big one: AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows vs.  IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann, Wilie Mack, and Eddie Edwards. This will be Omega’s first match on Impact Wrestling’s flagship show; he made his debut for the promotion at their Hard to Kill pay-per-view this past January.

The move also comes just before the REBELLION pay-per-view on Sunday, April 25. The main event features Omega vs. Swann in a historic Title vs. Title match. IMPACT Tag Team Champions FinJuice will defend their titles against previous champions, the Good Brothers.

Prior to the event, there will be a two-hour virtual fan fest, REBELLION CELL-ebration. It begins at 11 AM ET and will feature Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo and X-Division Champion, Ace Austin.

Also moving to Thursday night is Before the Impact (BTI), the company’s weekly show that leads into IMPACT! The show is hosted by Josh Mathews, Gia Miller, and Jon Burton. The show airs at 7 PM ET on AXS TV.
