Rivalries in professional wrestling, while predetermined, have created some of the greatest moments in not only professional wrestling but all sports. The WWE NXT brand has created some of the WWE best rivalries over the last couple of years. The Golden brand has found a way to connect to the fans that want strictly wrestling.

Kyle O’Reilly beat Adam Cole in a vicious and highly anticipated unsanctioned match at NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver. Cole and Kyle weren’t afraid to go out there and deliver a brutal, hard-hitting match against each other, given their history as being friends for so long. O’Reilly would put Cole away after wrapping a chain around his knee and coming off the top rope to drive Cole’s head into a steel chair. In this article, I will be discussing where do they go from here.

Cole and O’Reilly were long-term friends and members of The Undisputed Era and Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong, but things came crashing down at NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day after the match between Finn and Pete Dunne. Undisputed Era would save Finn, but the superkick to Finn and O’Reilly by Cole would leave wrestling fans speechless.

Cole and O’Reilly are no strangers when it comes to being friends turned enemies battling in hardcore style wrestling matches. The story of Cole and O’Reilly goes beyond their unsanctioned match at NXT Takeover. Their history goes back twelve years. The two would face each other back in Combat Zone Wrestling, also known as (CZW), where they faced off at the companies Twelfth Anniversary show. Cole would face Johnny Gargano and then O’Reilly to eventually win the tournament, but the first time they fought was in Dragon Gate Wrestling in a dark open.

These two wrestlers have faced each other worldwide, whether it was a part of ROH, CHIKARA, Fight Club Pro, IPW, and Pro wrestling Guerilla. Kyle and O’Reilly’s careers have consistently been attached to each other. The battles between these two have been some of the bloodiest, and hard-hitting wrestling fans have seen on the independent scene.

During their time together in ROH, they were known as Future Shock, which NXT used for the Shock The System phrase. While in ROH, they were put into legendary feuds with The American Wolves, The Young Bucks, The Briscoes, and The Kings of Wrestling. When it comes to singles action, they have fantastic chemistry together. Their matches over the ROH world title were matches that fans still talk about to this day.

The next step in this intense rivalry is for the two to fight in NXT’s first-ever Hell In a Cell match, where Cole should win that match. Then I would have Cole enter the Balor and Kross feud and get the NXT title back so that he and Kyle could feud over the belt. The NXT roster has some of the best wrestlers on the planet there, and because of that, they can have Cole feud with an up and comer NXT wrestler till they are ready for Kyle to return and eventually take the belt from Cole. Kyle O’Reilly deserves to get a reign with the NXT title because he has proven that he is a wrestler that the fans would like to see win the championship.

I would have Kyle and Cole wrestle in a 60 minute Iron man match where both men can show the world of professional wrestling that you are watching two of the best wrestlers in the world right now. This would be the match that I would have to end the feud, and I would have Kyle O’Reilly win the match and become the new NXT champion.

Next. NXT does not feel the same on USA Network. dark

Together these two have seen the greatest of heights, either as part of a team or as solo stars. Over the last couple of months, we have seen these two show hate towards each other that reminds fans of the Triple H and HBK feud. Two friends have become enemies doing something that they both love to do. Both wrestlers want to be the best, but only one can be NXT’s top star. Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly will always be tied together, and their feud deserves to be given suitable attention so that the world can see that it is still possible to have a rivalry where both guys genuinely hate each other in WWE.
