The Monday Night Raw trains continue as, yet another edition of the WWE weekly showcase was upon us. Leading into the show the promoted matches featured a lot of the same names, such as The New Day, The Miz, Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, and more, heading into the next PPV, WWE WrestleMania Backlash on May 16.

The night started off with a rematch between Mace and T-Bar, who were looking to continue their fight against Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre. At least that was the plan until Strowman decided he wanted to fight both men on his own.

Strowman got out to an advantage early, nearly flattening both men, but it was a matter of time until the numbers game started to play against him. It did not take long for Strowman to find himself pinned in the corner and struggling to fight his way out. They continued to batter Strowman until the referee was forced to call for the bell. But that signaled McIntyre to come running out.

Coming back from the commercial, the four men were back into the tag team setting with T-Bar and McIntyre throwing heavy shots in the center of the ring. T-Bar and Mace were able to work together to isolate McIntyre, keeping the former champion on their side of the ring. Strowman and McIntyre were able to exchange tags and take over the match. Their ability to work together fell apart when McIntyre laid out the charging Strowman outside the ring. Mace was able to layout McIntyre long enough to pick up the count-out win.

The next match of the evening was a six-man affair. The New Day teamed with Damian Priest to take on the Miz, Elias, and Jaxson Ryker.

After the segment started with Elias, Ryker, and Miz being pelted with tomatoes, the match started with Xavier Woods being the target of the onslaught. Woods was isolated on their side of the ring and struggled to get over to make the tag. Not only did he make the tag, but he and Kofi Kingston put on the tag teamwork to keep the Miz off his feet. When Priest came in, he continued the trend of beating all three of their opponents to the punch.

Things turned for Kingston, but he was not going down without a fight, but he still found himself on the wrong side of the ring. It was Kingston who found himself taking a lot of tag team offense, unable to get back to get out of the ring. He would eventually find his way over to Priest, who came in with all the momentum. The match would fall apart at the end with bodies flying all over the place. However, it would be Woods picking up the victory when he rolled Ryker up in the middle of the ring.

Sheamus was out to have another edition of his open challenge for a shot at the WWE United States title. Humberto Carrillo answered the call for the second week in a row. The two brawled for a moment and when it looked that Sheamus was going to get the upper hand, Carrillo was able to knock Sheamus from the ring and launch himself onto the champion before walking away with some semblance of payback.

Randy Orton and Matt Riddle found themselves in a tag team after fighting each other just a week ago. They ended up facing off against Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

Riddle and Alexander started things off with Alexander finding a way to get Riddle on their side of the ring before tagging out to Benjamin. Both Benjamin and Alexander took turns picking Riddle apart, while mocking Orton on the other side of the ring. Riddle was finally able to get over to Orton who jumped all over Benjamin the second he entered the ring. Alexander ate the RKO, while Benjamin was finished off with the Floating Bro, giving team RK-Bro the victory.

Women’s action was up next. Asuka teamed with Lana and Naomi to face off against Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax and Rhea Ripley.

Baszler and Asuka started off grappling in the middle of the ring until Ripley came in to toss Asuka around. Asuka fought back and isolated the champion on their side of the ring. Lana even got in some offense on Ripley until she was hit with a headbutt and high angle suplex. The match rolled along until Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke came down to ring side to cause another distraction.

Lana was in trouble until she was able to get the hot tag to Asuka, who came in and cleared the ring of all their foils. Baszler was able to take over and tagged in Jax who landed a nice elbow drop for a two-count. The action continued to pick up with Ripley attempting to pin Naomi, but the sneak tag was made to Lana. Lana attempted to sneak a victory, but she ate the Riptide, followed by a big leg drop by Jax to pick up the win.

Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, and Rhea Ripley defeated Naomi, Lana, and Asuka via pinfall.

Charlotte Flair was up for singles action against Mandy Rose.

Rose and Flair would exchange arm locks early in the match and put their athletic abilities on display. Flair was distracted by Brooke, allowing Rose to get the advantage in the corner. That momentum did not last long until Rose was laid out with a kick to the face. Rose responded with a top rope dropkick, but Flair kicked out easily.

Flair started arguing with the referee that led to two near falls from Rose. Rose had her moments, but she was hit with the Natural Selection. Flair quickly made the pin to get the victory.

The main event of the night placed Strowman and McIntyre in the ring for singles action.

Strowman broke out the power game early in the match and was having some success before McIntyre cut his legs out from under him. Strowman was rolling until Bobby Lashley decided to walk out and watch the match from ringside.

McIntyre and Strowman continued to exchange positions until McIntyre hit a big toss on Strowman coming out of the corner. McIntyre tried to follow up with the Claymore, but Strowman countered with a big powerbomb. Strowman would even hit a Superplex on the former champion, but McIntyre kicked out to save his chances at victory.

Lashley and MVP would get involved, but things did not play out how they liked. Mace and T-Bar also got involved and that distraction allowed Strowman to hit the powerslam and pin McIntyre for the victory.
