As a tag team and singles wrestler, Big E has participated in a variety of matches in his WWE career. One match he hasn’t taken part in, however, is the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Given the wrestlers who have been in the match in the past, Big E’s exclusion from the match is more a result of timing than anything else, but now that the New Day member is in the midst of a steady singles push, he might get his chance this year.

But how would the former Intercontinental Champion perform in that environment? If you ask Kofi Kingston that question, he would answer with glowing praise for his long-time tag team partner.

Kofi Kingston says Big E would be awesome if he were in a Money in the Bank ladder match.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, Kingston said that Big E would excel in a Money in the Bank ladder match (h/t to Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert for the transcription):

"“E would be a great fit because he would bring a lot of things to the table you hadn’t seen before. There aren’t a lot of people that move like Big E that are built like him in a Money in the Bank match. What I love about Money in the Bank is the fact that you have so many people in the ring together that are different in size, stature, and style. People forget this about Big E—he’s kind of a freak. Yes, he’s got all these muscles and he’s a strong guy, but he does so much more. He’s athletic, and he’s dangerously quick. There was a time in the locker room when [Xavier] Woods was joshing Big E a little bit, and E lunged over toward Woods and just yoked him up. It was all in a playful way, but I’d never seen somebody that big move that fast.“One of my goals when I initially joined New Day, when Woods and E approached me about being in this group, I wanted to do something new—and I wanted to help Woods and E rise and do whatever I could do to help them achieve a level of stardom in this industry that they hadn’t before. So yes, E would be amazing in Money in the Bank.”"

Next. Things got really weird with the 2020 MITB contracts. dark

This year’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view is scheduled for July 18, so Big E could very well find himself in the eponymous ladder match when that show happens. As for his immediate future, Big E is booked to challenge Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship on the May 21 episode of SmackDown in a Fatal-4-Way match that also features Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
