Impact Wrestling has been slowly re-establishing itself as one of the premier brands of Professional Wrestling in the western world. That crusade continues tonight as we are promised the fallout from the shocking match that resulted in new Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

Also promised is a ten-woman tag team action and the Impact Wrestling debut of Japanese Wrestling legend Kojima!

Before the Impact: Eddie Edwards vs. Sam Beale

Eddie is being put over by commentary immediately being called the heart and soul of Impact Wrestling and called the litmus test and measuring stick for young superstars who are trying to break into the company. Edwards and Beale go back and forth for several moments as commentary continues to bury Beale saying that there is “no way” that Beale will be able to beat Edwards. It’s interesting to see Beale wearing down Edwards as commentary feels more interested in discussing the NBA playoffs rather than watch and call the match. The commentary team seems able to focus in at just the right moment though as Edwards puts Beale away with the “Boston Knee Party”.

The episode opens up with a video package of Rhino’s full history with Violent By Design. From the group attacking him and Heath to his joining the group and finally with their victory over FinnJuice for the Impact Tag Team Championships last week.

Sami Callihan is in the ring to discuss his intention to challenge either MOOSE or Kenny Omega for the Impact World Championship title.

Callihan calls out Kenny Omega saying, “If you ain’t a chicken get out here right now.”

Kenny’s music plays for a second before being replaced by MOOSE’s music. MOOSE runs down Callihan giving a so-so promo. MOOSE’s promo skills have certainly improved but still aren’t great. His delivery feels awkward and stiff.

After going back and forth a bit between themselves they are then interrupted by the good brothers. Karl Anderson is legitimately a fantastic promo calling out the fact that no matter what happens it seems that Sammi Callihan will find a way to blame The Good Brothers and Kenny Omega.

MOOSE and Callihan attack The Good Brothers and chase them out of the ring.

The Good Brothers then demand that they want to talk to Scott and challenge MOOSE and Sami Callihan. Callis reminds them that he is an EVP of Impact and “holds the pencil” and can make any match he wants. We will get The Good Brothers vs. MOOSE/Sami Callihan tonight!

After the commercial break, we see Don Callis interviewed about the match he made and Don goes off on the interviewer talking about how he’s the invisible hand and makes a ton of money and great matches. Scott D’Amore comes into the frame and Callis immediately backs down and begins to compliment D’Amore before saying he has to “help Kenny prepare” and slinking back into the dressing room.

TJP and Fallah Bah vs. Petey Williams and Josh Alexander

Fallah and Josh Alexander kick off the match against one another. Petey Williams and Josh Alexander attempt to double team Fallah but that goes about as expected. There is a humorous moment when Fallah attempts a kip-up and just sort of wiggles on the canvas for a moment. As the show goes into commercial Josh Alexander has control over Fallah Bah.

When we return from the commercial Fallah is still on the mat but it is Williams inflicting the pain. He quickly tags in Alexander who is able to back Fallah into a neutral corner and goes to work striking and kicking him hard in the chest and stomach. Fallah is eventually able to tag in TJP who faces off with fellow speedster Petey Williams. The pace really picks up from here with all three remaining members of the match capable of working at a speed that is just not possible for Fallah Bah.

Fallah isn’t left out for long though tagging in and using the men’s size and speed against them delivering a devastating backdrop to Josh Alexander leaving him open to being pinned by TJP.

After the match, we see an interview with W. Morrissey. Morrissey seems to have similar issues to Brian Meyers when he came to Impact Wrestling saying how everyone is so happy to see people backstage to their face but will bury them behind their backs. He goes on to say that when he had a seizure in the ring in Philidephia all the “adoring fans” instead of calling 911 recorded him and put him on YouTube. He also runs down former co-workers who he works with again now (Meyers, Cardona, Rhino, Swann, etc.) who when they saw the video instead of checking on him laughed at him.

He expands on the promo saying that Rich Swann and Willie Mack aren’t friends. That as soon as Rich loses his usefulness to Willie he’ll spit him out. After the promo, Rich Swann attacks W. Morrissey.

After the promo, we get a video package about the Women’s division and how it’s the most diverse and most talented division in the world.

Fire and Flava, Kimber Lee, Susan, and Deonna Purrazzo vs. Havok, Tennielle Dashwood, Rosemary, Rachel Ellerhing and Jordynne Grace

I am not a fan multi man matches and this is a pretty good example of why I don’t love them. Even when their good, like this one was, you still lose a ton of stories as all the competitors wait for their “turn” in the match. This match definitely suffered from this issue quite a bit with several women in the match opperating more as valet’s than actual competitors cheering on those women who were active in the ring. Kiera Hogan was definitely an MVP of this match taking a brunt of the punishment and also providing a ton of their teams offense as well. On the other side of the ring we saw Rachel Ellerhing and Jordynne Grace quite a bit while Tennielle was comfortable allowing her partners to do most of the work.

The turning point of the match came when Fire and Flava turned on their temporary teammates Kimber Lee and Susan allowing Rosemary the opening she needed to pin the knockouts champion for the victory.

Rosemary pins Deonna Purrazzo to win for her team.

After the match its announced that Behind The Impact will feature the first ever Behind The Impact 60 minute Iron Man match between Josh Alexander and TJP for the X-Division Championship.

Violent By Design come to the ring to listen to their leader Eric Young hold court and speak about why they turned in the Call Your Shot trophy for the Impact Tag Team Championships last week. Young went over each member of Violent By Design explaining why he recruited each and every one of them into his ranks. He goes on to say that nothing happens by accident. They waited for FinnJuice to be at their weakest…. by design. That FinnJuice are back in Japan and cannot use their rematch clause….. by design. You get the idea. The promo is then interupted by a debuting Kojima.

Kojima comes down to the ring and gets in Joe Dohering’s face saying simply, “Against All Odds.” It seems that the New Japan legend will be lending his talents to Impact Plus soon.

Decay vs. Johnny Swinger and Hernandez

This was a really solid tag team match with both teams showcasing just how much chemistry they have with each other. Crazy Steve is able to pick up the victory following a very impressive sequence from Black Taurus.

Decay defeat Johnny Swinger and Hernandez

After the match we see Callis giving The Good Brothers a pep talk ahead of their main event match up against MOOSE and Sammi Callihan saying, “You guys are family. These guys can barely stand each other. Go to work.”

The Good Brothers vs. MOOSE and Sami Callihan

If Decay vs. Johnny Swinger and Hernandez was a good tag match The Good Brothers vs. MOOSE and Sami Callihan was a GREAT tag match. The Good Brothers have been amazing for the Impact Tag Team division since leaving the WWE not only have they been able to move back to the strong style that made them famous not only elevating themselves and their stock but the stock of every team in the division. MOOSE and Sami played this match perfectly working together for a time before turning on one another which ultimately lead to their downfall. After a pump kick from MOOSE connected to Sami’s face leading to a roll up and kick out at 2 Sami chooses to attack MOOSE on the apron before falling victim to the “Magic Killer” and eating the pin.

The Good Brothers defeat MOOSE and Sami Callihan

After the match MOOSE spears Sami leaving him laying in the center of the ring holding his ribs as the show goes off the air.
