WWE SummerSlam is set to take place on a Saturday for the first time ever this year. With the event being rumored to take place in a football stadium, there is a chance to turn this major showcase into one of the most memorable WWE Network specials of the year outside of WrestleMania 37.

There has been a number of guest hosts that appeared and were involved in the biggest show of the summer. Those names include Jon Stewart, Stephen Amell, Zeus, and even Ronda Rousey before she stepped foot inside the squared circle. Rumors continue to grow that Cardi B is the desired host for the 2021 show. WWE unveiled a promo with her newest single, Up, playing in the background.

Cardi B is a perfect choice to host SummerSlam. She has over 100 million followers combined on both Twitter and Instagram which is a very huge following. Cardi B would bring mainstream appeal to the WWE brand. Other than the usual hosting duties, Just think of the possibility of Cardi B and Sasha Banks or Bianca Belair crossing paths? The reaction to that in the arena and on social media would explode the trends for the night. Also to keep this going, Cardi B can appear on talk shows talking about her experience hosting SummerSlam.

This one appearance could also open the door for her to have at least one match in WWE. Cardi B is not a student of the game as she was a fan of WWE during the Ruthless Aggression Era period. She cited Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, Batista, Lita, Edge, and Triple H as her favorite wrestlers that she watched. There was also a moment where Lacey Evans and Cardi B ended up in a heated Twitter exchange that was almost too real for all parties involved.

Just like Bad Bunny, I believe that Cardi B would take WWE seriously if she ever wanted to pursue it. Of course that there will need to be veteran wrestlers that will have to carry her. But the thought of Cardi B inside a WWE ring really gauged my interest. Another aspect of Cardi B’s inclusion is that just like Bad Bunny, Cardi can be a draw to both women and people of color who are familiar with her work and were perhaps once fans of professional wrestling. Let’s see what the multi-platinum selling recording artist will do at SummerSlam.
