The five most interesting title feuds for Raquel Gonzalez as champion

Raquel Gonzalez stunned the world at NXT TakeOver Stand & Deliver by dethroning the reigning and incredibly popular NXT Women’s Champion, Io Shirai.

Before that, she and Dakota Kai won the inaugural Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and became the first NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. Fans now know that nothing is beyond the reach of Raquel Gonzalez.

Since then, she has been incredibly dominant in the Women’s Division, putting on incredible defenses against the likes of Mercedes Martinez and Ember Moon. Now, the question is “Who’s next?” and there are a lot of great options. And that’s excluding Kai’s inevitable betrayal.

Raquel Gonzalez vs Kacy Catanzaro

Early in Raquel’s time in NXT, she was known as Reina Gonzalez. Her first big matches were part of the Mae Young Classic tournaments, losing in the first round each time. It was former American Ninja Warrior competitor Kacy Catanzaro who eliminated her in the second tournament.

Both wrestlers have come a long way with their gimmicks and their in-ring work since those days. There is a story built into them renewing their old rivalry, not to mention the classic David versus Goliath story that WWE loves to tell.

Raquel Gonzalez vs Xia Li

The potential of Xia Li has always been apparent. She’s obviously a talented athlete who has a natural aptitude for pro wrestling. At the same time, Xia needed a good angle to put it all together. Turning heel as part of Tian Sha has done wonders for her NXT career.

Li has been locked in a feud with Mercedes Martinez that has elevated both of them. At this point, it’s hard not to see Xia Li in the title picture against Raquel Gonzalez at some point. They should definitely face off in the NXT Fight Pit.

Raquel Gonzalez vs Franky Monet

A relatively new addition to the NXT Women’s Division, Franky Monet has already proven to be someone to watch. Her over-the-top gimmick combined with her hard-hitting style in the ring will make her inevitably make her a contender.

Anyone who remembers Monet from her pre-WWE days as Taya Valkyrie knows exactly how good she is. Monet would make an excellent opponent for Raquel Gonzalez. Their feud would bring out the best in both of them.

Raquel Gonzalez vs Tegan Nox

At this point, Tegan Nox’s bad luck with injuries in NXT is almost as epic as Kenta’s was back in the days of Hideo Itami. Every time she gets some momentum behind her, something seems to go wrong that pulls the proverbial carpet out from under her.

When she finally returns from her torn ACL, Tegan would be an incredible opponent for Raquel Gonzalez. Nox is a talented performer who knows how to work. She and Raquel would have some outstanding matches together. Plus, who doesn’t want to see Lady Kane versus Big Mami Cool?

Raquel Gonzalez vs Tessa Blanchard

This one is a long shot, to say the least, but it could end up being a hell of a fight. Tessa Blanchard has built a solid career for herself with promotions like World Wonder Ring Stardom, Women of Wrestling, Impact, and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

Blanchard has been quiet since contentiously parting ways with Impact as well as her 2020 allegations of racism and bullying. If any company is going to sign her anyway, it would be WWE. And watching her face off with Raquel Gonzalez in NXT could be epic.
