Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge [Universal Championship]

After Edge made a surprise return to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship on last week’s WWE SmackDown, it was announced on Talking Smack that Edge will indeed battle Reigns for the Universal Title at WWE MITB 2021. When Edge won the Royal Rumble, he never received a one-on-one title match for world title. Now that Daniel Bryan is out of the picture entirely and is no longer a thorn in Edge’s side, Edge can now focus on winning the “battle of the spears” against Reigns. Besides, he has a good case for this title shot after pinning DB at Mania.

Although it would be nice for Edge to win a world title again, it has already been rumored that Reigns will defend his Universal Title against John Cena at SummerSlam while Edge will battle Seth Rollins. In fact, the seeds have already been planted for a SummerSlam program between Edge and Rollins since Edge took the title shot that Seth Rollins claimed first after talking to management. Rollins was clearly upset about this on Talking Smack and will find a way to get his revenge against Edge while calling back to the time he tried to break his neck in 2014.

Foolproof Prediction: Roman Reigns

Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Kofi Kingston [WWE Championship]

Wouldn’t it be bittersweet storytelling if Bobby Lashley defeated Kofi Kingston in the same eight seconds that it took Brock Lesnar when he won the WWE Championship from Kingston on the October 4, 2019, Fox Debut Episode of WWE SmackDown? Thereafter, Brock Lesnar will make a surprise return to attack Bobby Lashley and set up their WWE Championship dream match for WWE SummerSlam 2021. Clearly, “KofiMania 2” is just a ploy to hype up the crowd in attendance while setting up a bigger storyline for Lashley as WWE Champion.

Lashley will either lose the WWE Championship to Lesnar at SummerSlam or to whoever wins the MITB Contract. It is very possible that Drew McIntyre wins the MITB Contract and cashes in on Lashley to avenge that nefarious HIAC loss. If that’s the case, McIntyre would be winning back the WWE Championship at SummerSlam in front of the fans, as was originally planned at WrestleMania 37. Although there are rumors of McIntyre being traded to SmackDown, that won’t stop him from winning the WWE Championship and taking it with him to SmackDown.
