Taking a wrestler to the next level takes a lot of people. Sometimes, even a full-on faction is needed to get a superstar over.

This certainly worked with the Undisputed Era which turned all four members into bankable stars. In particular, it elevated Adam Cole to the main event picture. Now, NXT attempting to do the same thing with Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and his new faction, Hit Row Records.

In addition to Swerve, this group consists of Ashante “Thee” Adonis, B-FAB, and Top Dolla. This is no small feat given the depth of talent on the roster but Hit Row already is positioned to give Scott the push he’s needed and earned. That has already started with his recent acquisition of the North American Championship.

Becoming part of NXT

Even before joining NXT, wrestling fans were quite familiar with Isaiah “Swerve” Scott. He debuted in 2011, operating under names like Killshot and Shane Strickland. He worked all over the indies in addition to runs with CZW, MLW, and Lucha Underground.

Scott signed with NXT in 2019 and quickly became a fan favorite. His impressive athleticism combined with his magnetic personality made him a natural star. But he’s not the only member of Hit Row who has those kinds of attributes.

Ashanti “Thee” Adonis has been with WWE for a couple of years, competing on both NXT and 205 Live. He obviously has skill and charisma. At the same time, he’s also gone through a few gimmick changes and face/heel switches, making it hard to gain traction.

B-FAB and Top Dolla respectively came from careers in music and the NFL before starting their training at the WWE Performance Center. They are the great unknowns in this, two new wrestlers who are bringing potential and mystique to the table.

Starting Hit Row

As part of his feud with Leon Ruff, Swerve turned heel. During that time, NXT ran a series of vignettes showing him in a recording studio. This was how the brand laid the groundwork for the Hit Row Records faction.

It all got started in earnest on May 4, 2021. Swerve was in a Falls Count Anywhere Match with Leon Ruff. Top Dolla debuted by attacking Ruff and helping Swerve win. After it was over, B-FAB and Adonis joined them in the ring, confirming their alliance.

The last few weeks have seen the group continue to build its profile. B-FAB was an incredibly smart addition to the group. While she has yet to wrestle as part of the faction, her legit music credentials certainly lend some credibility to the Hit Row Records angle.

Top Dolla, on the other hand, has wrestled recently. And the former pro football player looks good in the ring. He’s definitely got what it takes to be a dominant big man, which is something Hit Row will definitely need going forward.

Taking Swerve to the top

While all the members of Hit Row have potential, the ultimate point of the faction is elevating Swerve. He has all the tools to be a star but also needed something to set him apart from the rest of the pack. And that something is Hit Row.

That’s not just because they’re any faction. The rap group, music production angle fits this crew perfectly. NXT and Swerve did an excellent job developing to this moment. On top of that, they’ve built this faction around Swerve quite well.

There is obvious, natural chemistry between the members of this group that is already coming through on screen. That will only grow over time as they gel even further. The potential for Hit Row to become dominant is incredibly high.

Ultimately, there’s no reason to believe that this faction won’t take Swerve to the top. Like Undisputed Era did for Adam Cole before him, this group has already begun to make Scott look like a major player in NXT. That has become especially evident with Swerve’s recent victory over Bronson Reed and him winning his first championship.

With Hit Row at his back, Scott is now the NXT North American Champion. But this is only the beginning. This faction will continue to push Isaiah “Swerve” Scott down the same path as Cole, all the way to the NXT Championship and main event dominance. As the man has been known to say, this is Swerve’s house and Hit Row will help him prove it.
