WWE SummerSlam 2021 Foolproof Match Card Predictions

AJ Styles & Omos (c) vs. RKBro [Raw Tag Team Titles]

AJ Styles and Omos are currently scheduled to defend and will evidently retain the Raw Tag Team Titles against Viking Raiders on the Raw after MITB. Since they have not defended their titles on PPV after dethroning The New Day at WrestleMania 37, it is foreseeable that they will defend those titles at SummerSlam. The only other babyface tag team left in the Raw Tag Division who would be top contenders for the titles would be RKBro. In fact, the seeds have already been planted for that title bout since Riddle has been a hindrance to Styles’ MITB aspirations this year.

As for the winners of this match, RKBro should win because they have been the major highlight on Raw each week and would thereby make the Raw Tag Team Titles eminently prestigious with the work they have been doing. Styles and Omos’ title reign has not been that eventful, and it’s probably best for Styles to perform as a singles star again with Omos as his bodyguard. RKBro can have a very fun title reign until Orton inevitably turns on Riddle to cost them the belts and feud on PPV, where Orton can either give Riddle the rub or put him over as a future main eventer.

Mysterios (c) vs. Alpha Academy [SmackDown Tag Team Titles]

Mysterios have been absent for the past few weeks on SmackDown to sell their injuries sustained in their feud with Roman Reigns. Since they have not defended their titles on PPV after dethroning Dirty Dawgs at WrestleMania Backlash, it is foreseeable that they will defend those titles at SummerSlam. The only other heel tag team left in the SmackDown Tag Division who would be top contenders for the titles would be Alpha Academy. In fact, Otis and Gable are on the verge of earning that title opportunity after they defeat Street Profits in their current non-title feud.

As for the winners of this match, Alpha Academy should win because they’re the only deserving SmackDown Tag Team left that has not yet won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Otis has been repackaged into a monster thanks to Gable’s tutelage. Their hard work won’t pay off without gold around his waist. Gable is training Otis to become the next Hokage, and the SmackDown Tag Titles are what they need to reach that next step. Mysterios will have a long enough reign by SummerSlam and can move back to Raw to pursue fresh feuds with the Raw Tag Teams.
