WWE has its love of Olympians, from Kurt Angle to Ronda Rousey. In this Olympic cycle, the world was introduced to Gable Steveson, and for those that know who he is, he is shown the building blocks for being a major star. Steveson has blatantly said he wants to join the WWE and that promotion should make a full-court press to bring him in and strap the proverbial rocket to his back.

This year alone, Steveson has reached the following accomplishments. He has become the Big-Ten Champion, NCAA Champion, Co-Hodge Trophy Winner, made the Olympics, and won gold at heavyweight. He hit every milestone available to him as an amateur wrestler and did so with a flare that screams professional wrestler.

And let us be clear, the WWE is already watching. On August 5, Triple H tweeted at Steveson to highlight his career achievements before the match that won him the gold medal. Steveson even once tweeted directly to Vince McMahon, which caught the attention of many wrestling fans who may not have an in the amateur scene.

As the main event picture of the WWE roster continues to age, there has not been a lot of momentum building behind the younger individuals on the roster. At 21-years old Steveson could be an immediate shot in the arm for that promotion that struggles to build new stars. He has also hinted at a potential run in mixed martial arts, and his performance must have drawn the gaze of AEW as well. He is someone that comes with the credentials and the big personality to make the transition to professional wrestling work.

Gable Steveson became only the second American to win heavyweight gold in the Olympics, hitting a goal that he has openly talked about for months. Now, his eyes may turn toward professional wrestling and the WWE needs to do all they can to bring him in as a star in the making.
