5 Mae Young Classic rematches I’d like to see

In 2017 and 2018 WWE brought us the Mae Young Classic where women from all over the world competed to win the Mae Young Classic Trophy. We were introduced to many new faces who are now major superstars on their respective shows. The winners Kairi Sane and Toni Storm went on to have great success after the tournament and so did many other participants. In the past, we have seen rematches between some of the competitors but these are 5 rematches I would love to see.

Allysin Kay Vs Mia Yim (2018)

This match was intense! This might have been one of the most physical and entertaining matches throughout the entire competition. I would love to see them both in the ring together again. They seemed to know each other well which lead to a lot of interesting back and forth spots. Yim has definitely gotten more aggressive as she has moved further in her career and I think they would both be able to deliver another hard-hitting match with some amazing spots if they had the chance to meet again.

Shayna Baszler Vs Mercedes Martinez (2017)

Since this match, I followed both of their careers more closely as I was very interested in their wrestling styles. The start of this match was mostly Martinez delivering strikes onto Baszler and I wonder how the dynamic would be all these years later knowing how Baszler has grown as a wrestler. I think we could get an amazing submission match out of these two, the dragon sleeper versus the Kirifuda clutch.

Piper Niven Vs Serena Deeb (2017)

I would love to see this match again! Especially with what Niven is doing right now, I would really enjoy seeing her in a match like this again. I think back in 2017 many people were still learning about Niven and were very excited to see Serena Deeb back in the ring so both women had a lot to prove to people. Piper Niven is always one of my favorite people to watch work and I would love to see their paths cross once again.

Rhea Ripley Vs Kacy Catanzaro (2018)

This match was an example of the classic David and Goliath situation. Kacy is very small compared to most of the other girls who took part in the competition and Rhea was one of the biggest and strongest. I love that during their match it wasn’t always Rhea out-powering Kacy, sometimes she would be delivering beautiful dropkicks and also showing off her athletic ability. Although the psychology behind this match was something we have seen before they were able to make it unique. This is why it was a match that stood out in my opinion. I would love to see how different it would be now 3 years later.

Lacey Lane Vs Taynara Conti (2018)

I really enjoyed watching both of them during this tournament, this match stands out to me a lot due to the finish. I think both women have gone a long way since this match and I would love to see them battle again. The Mae Young Classic was such a good opportunity for both of them and they really stood out to me.
