WWE Raw: Big E and Drew McIntyre brawl after main event

The WWE Draft has come and gone, but the WWE Universe is still a few days away from the new rosters taking over. That doesn’t mean the action on Monday Night Raw is on hold, as there’s a lot to build to with not only Crown Jewel, but Survivor Series quickly around the corner. Sasha Banks teams with Bianca Belair against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair as the featured contest, along with more from Big E, Drew McIntyre, and others.

Drew McIntyre was out first with words for Big E as they head into a title match at Crown Jewel. McIntyre didn’t get far into his story before being interrupted by the new WWE Champion. McIntyre brought up the challenges with being champion during the global pandemic, wanting to take that title back in front of the fans.

They were then interrupted by the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos. The Usos talked down to the two men in the ring, ending up in a tag team match against McIntyre and E later in the evening.

The first match of the night was a King of the Ring qualifying tournament with the fan favorite to win, Xavier Woods, taking on Ricochet.

The two men lock up with Ricochet getting the first advantage. Woods went for the first cover after a big shoulder block, but Ricochet kicked out at one. Woods stayed on him, focusing on the arm. Ricochet answered with a dropkick, but Woods kicked out at one.

Ricochet laid into Woods with shots and the two men ended up exchanging blows. Ricochet tried to launch himself into the ring and Woods knocked him down, dropping him on the apron. The two men climbed the top rope, and Ricochet ended up hitting a big Superplex.

Back from commercial Ricochet was still in control of the match, landing a stiff kick to Woods’s back. Woods blocked another suplex attempt, instead draping Ricochet over the top and following up with a stomp to the back. He’d land a leg drop off the second rope for a two-count. Woods hit a gut buster but Ricochet kicked out again at two.

Ricochet was finally able to respond with a kick to Woods’s head, then hitting a cartwheel senton and a kick to the chest. Woods rolled out the ring before Ricochet could make the pin, but Ricochet launched himself over the top rope and into Woods on the floor. Ricochet went for it one too many times, just to be thrown into barricade. That gave Woods the opening to hit an elbow drop for the victory.

Xavier Woods defeated Ricochet via pinfall.

Randy Orton and Matt Riddle had a falling out of sorts, which resulted in Riddle storming out of the locker room.

Mustafa Ali and Mansoor were out for tag team action next against Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

The match started with Benjamin and Ali in the ring, with Ali immediately being isolated on the wrong side of the ring. Ali was able to avoid Alexander and get to Mansoor to make the tag. Mansoor was able to outpace Alexander to take things over for their team.

Ali went for the 450 and missed, when he got back to his feet, Alexander was ready and hit the Michinoku Driver for the victory.

Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin defeated Mansoor and Mustafa Ali via pinfall.

Dana Brooke was out next against Shayna Baszler for their Queen’s Crown matchup.

Brooke charged out the gate and was immediately forced into the corner. Brooke got in some offense of her own, knocking Baszler down in the corner. She went for the handspring elbow and into the Kirifuda Clutch but fought out into a series of pinfall attempts. She tried to roll through again right into a knee from Baszler who picked up the win via pinfall.

Shayna Baszler defeated Dana Brooke via pinfall.

Matt Riddle was out next for singles action against Omos with AJ Styles by his side.

Riddle jumped out the ring and attacked Styles, allowing Omos to drag him over the top rope with ease. Omos followed that up by pancaking him in the corner. That led to the chokeslam. Before Omos could pin him with ease, Styles told him to stop so they could continue to beat up Riddle. They continued to toy with Riddle until Omos pinned him with one foot on his chest.

Omos defeated Matt Riddle via pinfall.

Jeff Hardy was up next for a match against Austin Theory.

Hardy was out the gates first, bouncing Theory around the ring until Theory landed a back elbow. Hardy responded in kind and landed a double-axhandle from the top. Theory answered with a roll through the middle ropes into a dropkick.

During the match Reginald was chased out from the back by others looking for the 24/7 title. Hardy took advantage of the distraction to hit the Twist of Fate and went for the Swanton. Hardy missed and Theory rolled him up to get the pinfall.

Austin Theory defeated Jeff Hardy via pinfall.

Jinder Mahal was out with Veer and Shanky to take on Kofi Kingston in the next King of the Ring tournament.

Mahal was able to easily overpower Kingston early in the match, throwing him to the ground with a headlock takeover. He followed up with a shoulder block that knocked Kingston back down. Kingston eventually countered with a dropkick out of the corner, turning the advantage in his favor.

Kingston forced Mahal outside the ring and ended up taking a PK off the apron. Kingston kept up the pace with the trust fall into Mahal. Back from commercial, where Mahal landed a DDT. Kingston hit a dropkick, but Mahal kicked him in the gut. Kingston answered with a big crossbody from a two-count. Mahal hits a gut buster for a two-count of his own.

Kingston knocked Mahal off the top rope and landed a frog splash to Mahal’s back for two. He then landed the Boom Drop and set up for the Trouble in Paradise. Mahal tried to roll up Kingston but that didn’t work. Kingston came off the top rope and took the Khallas, giving Jinder Mahal the vin.

Women’s tag team action was next, with Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair taking on Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

The match started out with Belair and Banks fighting over who would start, leading to an all-out brawl in the ring. Lynch and Flair took advantage, stomping away at the two women in the corner. Belair was jettisoned from the ring but in a surprise move, Flair gave Lynch a big boot to the face. Now all four women were fighting around the ring. Belair used Banks as a weapon, throwing her onto Lynch and Flair on the floor.

The tag match was restarted after the commercial break. Flair and Banks started out with Flair dropping Banks with an elbow. Banks responded with a Hurricanrana and a wheelbarrow pin attempt. Flair answered with a backbreaker and a tossed her to the mat. Lynch tagged herself in, telling Flair to get out of the ring.

Banks hit a Meteora for a two-count, before tagging out to Belair. She and Banks started to “work together” slapping each other to make tags. Belair landed a combination suplex and then a big splash for a two count. Banks tagged herself in then pulled Belair over the top rope. Banks and Lynch exchanged the Bank Statement and Disarm-her until Flair tagged herself back in.

The distraction between Lynch and Flair allowed Banks to hit the Banks’ Statement. Belair then ran in and went after Banks again, tossing her into the top rope. The official had enough, calling the matcha no-contest as all four women continued to brawl.

Doudrop was taking on Natalya in the final first round matchup of the Queen’s Crown tournament.

Natalya slapped Doudrop in the face and backed her into the corner. Doudrop missed a senton and Natalya responded with a basement dropkick and quick pin attempt that didn’t work. Natalya locked in an abdominal stretch. Doudrop knocked Natalya into the corner and missed the cannonball. That led to a discuss clothesline for a two-count.

Natalya went for the sharpshooter but Doudrop slapped her in the face, then immediately rolled Natalya up for the pinfall.

Doudrop defeated Natalya via pinfall.

Drew McIntyre and Big E were up next for a tag team match against The Usos.

Big E started out the match against Jimmy, overpowering him from the jump. McIntyre and Big E worked together to keep Jimmy isolated, stomping away on him in the corner. They were rolling until Jey tagged in and they attacked McIntyre in the corner. McIntyre hit a big suplex for a two count.

Big E tagged in and went for an abdominal stretch on Jey. A slick tag outside the ring allowed the Usos to pounce on him, stomping him to the mat in their corner. Big E tried to fight out from the corner, but The Usos were able to keep him away from McIntyre. Big E hit a suplex on Jimmy and Jey tried to make the run in but he went over the top rope. The Usos continued to assault him outside the ring, throwing him into the steel steps.

The champion was staggered and dropped with a double flap jack for a two-count. McIntyre finally got the tag and he went on a run, tossing Jimmy around the ring. McIntyre hit a spinebuster for a two-count. Jimmy at the Glasgow Kiss but Jey made the tag, allowing them to hit double-superkicks for a two-count. McIntyre continued to clear house of the twin brothers, calling for the Claymore but Big E tagged himself back in.

Big E walked into two superkicks and Jey almost won the match. Jey then went to the top rope for the splash but missed. Jimmy attacked McIntyre outside the ring and McIntyre broke up a pinfall, pulled Big E outside the ring. They would end up fighting on the floor, leading to a count out and the match finishing via disqualification.

The Usos defeated Drew McIntyre and Big E via count out.
