As Jeff Hardy is making his exit from the RAW brand due to being drafted to SmackDown, Hardy has made a sign that he is heading in a different direction. Last week on RAW, Hardy had an in-ring interview after failing to win the United States Championship from Damian Priest.

During his post-match interview, Hardy stated, ‘I think going to SmackDown might be the perfect opportunity to see a different side of Jeff Hardy, a different ego!” This message could be a symbol of Hardy bringing in the Willow character he had in Impact Wrestling. Willow was a gimmick that was Hardy’s alter ego. With this tease made by Hardy, it would be interesting to see how the character would unfold in WWE.

Maybe Willow can finally be what turns Hardy heel in WWE. Throughout Hardy’s career with the WWE, he has never had a legit singles run as a heel. Although there were some teases that Hardy would turn heel back in 2003, his heel turn was never practically official.

If Hardy were to turn heel, now it’s the right time to do so. Since Hardy is now going to SmackDown, he can now bring something new and fresh to the table. A debut of Willow in WWE can also help elevate the top potential babyfaces of SmackDown after Crown Jewel, such as Drew McIntyre, Cesaro, and Ricochet. Willow can have a championship run as well if the character targets current Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura.

Hardy’s teased heel turn can mean so many things other than going solo. For one, Jeff Hardy’s heel turn can involve being managed by a mouthpiece such as Sami Zayn, or Hardy can lead a faction of his own with new and promising young stars on the SmackDown brand, such as MACE and Ridge Holland for examples.
