Kairi Sane’s WWE contract has expired, which now makes her a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. It was reported last week that WWE wanted to renew her deal, but she didn’t want to live in the United States because of the pandemic. Kairi Sane moved back to Japan in 2020 to be with her family. Kairi would sign with WWE in 2017 after winning that year’s Mae Young Classic. Eventually, she would become NXT Women’s champion and debut on the main roster. In this article, I will be discussing Kairi Sane’s top five moments.

5. Kairi Sane Vs. Tessa Blanchard (Mae Young Classic)

The first time WWE fans were able to see Kairi Sane wrestle was back in 2017 at the Mae Young Classic when she faced off against Tessa Blanchard in the first round. The expectations were high because both wrestlers were known to put together great matches. The Mae Young Classic was a great chance to show the world that women’s wrestling is something more people should pay close attention to. Both women were able to show their strengths throughout the match. This match showed people that these two women could be major stars and leave the crowd stunned.

4. Kairi Sane Vs. Shayna Baszler (Evolution)

Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler have a history of wrestling each other in the ring. Each time the two stood across one another in the ring, they would deliver excellent matches that could match any women’s match in any wrestling promotion. The two wrestlers would meet at Evolution in an NXT Women’s Championship match. This match would highlight how both wrestlers were determined to show the world the best in the ring that night. The two wrestlers would create clever counters to each other’s moves and have moments that would leave the crowd reacting to every action. Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler had matches before, but this match had the intensity needed to tell a story of heel vs. babyface. Baszler would win and become the first-ever two-time NXT Women’s champion.

3. The Kabuki Warriors vs. Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch

Kairi Sane wasn’t given better storylines when she came up to the main roster shows how disconnected WWE can be from their fanbase. Kairi Sane had her best moment when she teamed up with Asuka and took on Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. The two teams would meet in a TLC match, allowing wrestling fans to see Sane be put in situations that fans have never seen her in before. This was the match where fans were able to see that Asuka and Sane could be a threat in the women’s tag team division. This match highlighted how talented The Kabuki Warriors were as a tag team that made wrestling fans want to see Sane wrestle more often.

2. Kairi Sane Vs. Toni Storm (Mae Young Classic)

The Mae Young classic showed how important women’s wrestling is when they are presented in front of the world. Toni Storm Vs. Kairi Sane in the Mae Young Classic was the first time that the two worked together, and the match went better than expected. The match would start slow, but once each wrestler understood how the other worked, the match would grow with intensity. This match showed everyone how two different styles could work well together and create magic. This match is one of the best matches that Kairi Sane had in the WWE.

1. Kairi Sane Vs. Shayna Baszler (Takeover Brooklyn IV)

When it comes to Kairi Sane’s best rival in WWE, Shayna Baszler, is the one person who comes to mind because these two brought out the best in each other. The two had many matches, but many fans remember the match from NXT Takeover Brooklyn IV. This match was the first time that fans could see emotion from Baszler and her personality. Kairi Sane focused on matching Bazler when it came to using submission holds, but Shayna would use her strength to punish Sane throughout the match. Kairi Sane proved that she had heart and could get the job done at the end of this match.
