WWE SmackDown Predictions: Goldberg Will Replace Brock Lesnar
By Mark Justice
WWE SmackDown is heading into WWE Day 1 2022. On this week’s go-home episode, there are neither scheduled matches nor scheduled segments. It was advertised that WWE’s Top Moments of 2021 will be featured. However, the WWE must have a swerve planned for the very last SmackDown of 2021. Will Goldberg replace Brock Lesnar in pursuit of Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship for a battle of the spears at WWE Day 1 2022?
Speaking of which, WWE is still one day away from WWE Day 1 2022. There are three WWE SmackDown-affiliated matches scheduled for this PPV event: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title, Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss, and Usos (c) vs. The New Day for the SmackDown Tag Titles. Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Title could also be added to the card since Zayn won the number one contender’s gauntlet last week..
With that being addressed, it’s now time to preview and predict what will actually occur on this week’s go-home episode of WWE SmackDown.
WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on December 31, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on FOX. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.
Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar [Final Face Off]
On this week’s WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will likely have a final face-off. However, this is not the Day 1 match the majority of WWE fans wanted to see because it has been booked too many times to count. They want to see Roman Reigns (c) vs. Goldberg for the Universal Championship at Day 1 because that was the match they were supposed to get at WrestleMania 36. Brock Lesnar is just a red herring. Goldberg will return to this episode of WWE SmackDown and end the year with a bang by assuring that The Tribal Chief is NEXT.
