This Saturday, WWE Day 1 marks the first WWE Pay-Per-View of 2022. It is also the first time since 2007 that the WWE hosted a Pay-Per-View event at the very beginning of the year. One of the main events for Day 1 is Big E defending his WWE Championship against Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley.

Big E should still come out as WWE Champion out of those four men.

Big E’s reign is just getting started in most fans’ eyes, and it would be way too soon for him to lose the WWE Championship. A perfect way for him to retain his championship is by pinning Kevin Owens.

Owens seems to be the right fit to take the pin due to WWE slowly building Lashley as a top babyface. Rollins wouldn’t be the best option to take the fall, either, because there is so much potential for Rolllins’ and Big E’s rivalry to escalate.

At first, Rollins became the number one contender, but as time went on, Owens and Lashley inserted themselves into the title picture. If Big E were to win without pinning Rollins, their feud could resume and conclude at Royal Rumble.

For Big E to win at Day 1 and Royal Rumble, it would prove that Big E can be a formidable WWE Champion for the WWE Universe, and more of those big wins can cement him as a top babyface; since his reign started, he’s faced top stars such as Drew McIntyre and Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

It’s too soon for Big E to lose his championship. There’s still so much in store for his title reign; he has only been champion for three months! Hopefully, if he retains, the WWE Universe can see Big E defend the WWE Championship against other babyface wrestlers on the RAW brand, such as AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Edge.
