WWE WrestleMania 38 Predictions: Roman Reigns Will Become Immortal
By Mark Justice
Mysterios vs. The Miz & Logan Paul [Tag Match]
Mysterios will defeat The Miz and Logan Paul because they are a legitimate tag team who should not lose to a makeshift tag team and they need to redeem themselves with a ‘father and son’ WrestleMania moment after failing to be on the card at last year’s WrestleMania. Mysterios got the SmackDown Tag Titles under their belt but they need to win the Raw Tag Titles before considering dissension. Dominick Mysterio is not necessarily ready yet to break away from his father but he has definitely been improving and can spread his wings at next year’s Mania.
Prediction: Mysterios
Sami Zayn vs. Johnny Knoxville [“Anything Goes” Match]
Sami Zayn will defeat Johnny Knoxville in their schedule Anything Goes Match because he is a professional wrestler who should not lose in a singles match to a celebrity/movie star with minimal wrestling experience. Zayn really should be defending the Intercontinental Title against Ricochet at WrestleMania because they planted the seeds for that encounter when they were the final 2 in the Christmas Eve Gauntlet last year. However, Zayn and Knoxville have been planting the seeds for their bout since the Rumble, so this was inevitable to say the least.
Prediction: Sami Zayn
Ricochet (c) vs. Sheamus [Intercontinental Title]
Ricochet will defeat Sheamus to retain the Intercontinental Title because he recently won the title and should have a longer run with the belt than he did with the U.S. Title. It wouldn’t be surprising if Sheamus defeated Ricochet in 18 seconds or less to achieve his Grand Slam, but Ricochet has been feuding with Sheamus for quite a long time on WWE SmackDown and needs that babyface payoff after the string of losses he sustained to Sheamus. Ricochet’s open challenges with that title will be a breath of fresh air for the mid card on SmackDown. The title was made for him.
Prediction: Ricochet
Finn Balor (c) vs. Damian Priest [U.S. Title]
Finn Balor will defeat Damian Priest to retain the United States Title because he recently won the title and should win this rubber match by unleashing the Demon. It wouldn’t be surprising if Damian Priest won the title back to solidify his heel turn and attain his WrestleMania Moment, but Finn Balor should not be booked as a transitional champion since he is a former world champion who should be taken seriously on Raw. Like Ricochet, Balor can do wonders for the mid card on Raw through open challenges. It’s his first U.S. Title, and he needs to make it count.
Prediction: Finn Balor
