WWE SummerSlam 2022 Predictions: John Cena Will Screw Austin Theory
By Mark Justice
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar [Undisputed WWE Universal Title: Last Man Standing Match]
Roman Reigns will retain against Brock Lesnar because Roman Reigns will never lose that title and Brock Lesnar was the Plan B option for Randy Orton, who was not going to dethrone Reigns either. This is way too predictable, but what is truly unpredictable as Mr. MITB Austin Theory. Only Vince McMahon knows why Austin Theory, out of all the better options, won the MITB Briefcase even though he’s not ready to dethrone Reigns. However, it seems that the MITB Briefcase will go to waste this year because Theory is on the verge of failing his MITB cash-in.
On Raw last week, Austin Theory mocked John Cena and belittled him for his attire and cheesy catchphrases. It has been heavily rumored that Cena and Theory would feud in the WWE, especially on the road to SummerSlam. However, it has been reported that the match between Cena and Theory was postponed from SummerSlam to WrestleMania 39. It was a good call to postpone the match because Theory was in no way, shape, or form ready for a feud with John Cena as he was still in the early stages of his main roster career as U.S. Champion.
However, just because Cena and Theory are not gonna have a match at SummerSlam does not mean that Cena can’t have a little bit of fun at SummerSlam. Just like Cena screwed Corbin’s MITB cash-in in 2017-2018, Cena can do the same by screwing Theory’s MITB cash-in when Theory attempts to cash in against Reigns after the debilitating Last Man Standing Match. It would be suitable revenge for Cena to do this after Theory mocked him in the backstage area. This would be a sufficient methodology to plant seeds for their WrestleMania bout in 2023.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
