Wrestling Rumour Roundup: Bray Wyatt return, Vince McMahon and more
By Amit Shukla
WWE has done a great job keeping the cliffhanger intact for the fans since Hunter took control of the creative division. Fans can expect something to be unexpected every week on Raw and SmackDown. The big question is if WWE will keep the pace going, or will things settle down the line? While that’s a question that gets answered in the future, let’s look at the rumors that kept doing the rounds this week in the wrestling circuit. So without further ado, let’s get down to it:
WWE repackaging a WWE superstar
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, T-Bar received an excellent response at the Madison Square Garden show. It has raised the stakes that he may be repackaged as Dominik Dijakovic and presented to the fans. Whether that comes to fruition or not is something we would have to wait and see, but it’s a positive sign for the talented superstar.
He performed well in NXT but didn’t get any valuable opportunity on the main roster. With the change in the creative division, we may see T-Bar get the push he deserves, and the fans get exceptional in-ring action.
Roman Reigns’ long segment deprives fans of a match
Roman Reigns works as a heel champion. The MSG show was the first where Vince wasn’t directly in the gorilla position, passing out commands to superstars and commentators. This change took some time to settle things during the opening segment. Dave Meltzer reports that the Reigns vs Theory segment went longer than the assigned time leading to a Drew McIntyre vs Theory match getting called off.
It deprived fans of an opportunity to watch The Scottish Pschyopath take on Theory and perform a classic before the former’s match with The Tribal Chief at WWE’s UK Event Clash At The Castle. The two came together on the 25th July episode of Monday Night Raw, but the match never reached its end. Will we see them fight in the future? We can wait to find the answers.
Vince McMahon is getting erased from WWE
PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reports that Vince McMahon got removed as an internal roster talent. WWE plans to erase the former Chairman of the Board from all positions. Vince doesn’t bring good publicity to the business. So as a PR initiative, WWE needs to step away from Mr McMahon.
Vince’s hush money scandal has brought bad words to the company, the industry and its treatment of women. It also brings various other underlining problems that need addressing. Vince’s removal from all positions is the only possible way for the WWE.
Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam ring moment was not according to plan
The Beast Incarnate is a powerhouse. He knows how to topple a superstar inside the ring with the ring itself. His SummerSlam spot never got rehearsed. WWE Universe and the backstage officials were shocked at how the event and the moment turned out to be at the end.
While no one got hurt in the segment, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that the section wasn’t performed to perfection by The Box Office Attraction. We are glad no one got injured in the process. The ring got lifted at an angle and sent shockwaves amongst those in attendance and those watching at home.
Bray Wyatt may likely return to the WWE
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Bray Wyatt may return to the WWE. With Vince gone from WWE, superstars are ok to make a return to the WWE. Bray Wyatt also teased a possible return with his tweet, but one couldn’t decipher if he talked about the business in general or teasing a return.
WWE has a special place in everyone’s heart. Vince’s approach caused all the problems. Fans had turned off the TV leading to low ratings, and even superstars weren’t feeling good about their status with the company. It may change soon with superstars returning more than ever and Bray Wyatt teasing a return.
