Now that NXT Worlds Collide has come and gone, WWE has an interesting piece on the chess board that is Tyler Bate. For former WWE NXT UK Champion dropped the belt to Bron Breakker and has since appeared on NXT. What’s next for him in the company seems up in the air, but he’s an uber-talented performer that would flourish on any brand, whether it’s NXT or either of the main roster shows.

Even at this point in his wrestling career, it’s still astounding to see how young Bate is. At 25 years old, he’s the type of performer that organizations covet. If this was any other type of sport or form of entertainment, Bate’s abilities at such a young age are the type of skills that foundations are built upon. WWE has a rare piece that could shape the future of the company and they have options on how to use him in said future.

Could Bate stay a part of NXT? Of course, but he doesn’t fit into the long-term, main event picture. Spoilers recently revealed that he loses a number one contender’s match to JD McDonagh, pushing him further out of the view. If he remains, viewers wouldn’t be surprised to see Bate take a back seat to the likes of Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Nathan Frazer, and others. Even if fans were to complain about his place in the group, NXT seems to be heading in a different direction.

However, think about Bate on the main roster. Both SmackDown and Monday Night Raw include several names that immediately stand out as “dream” opponents. Seth Rollins, Ricochet, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, and many more would easily be great dance partners. WWE could even go back to matches against the likes of Gunther and Butch to create the next phases of those great series seen in the past. The opportunities are plentiful and that is what makes Bate’s place on the WWE roster such an intriguing conversation.

WWE continues to do a strong job highlighting the youth across the roster. Tyler Bate is one of those central figures as one who has contributed to so many great matches and big moments already at such a young age. Fans should hope that he’s a central figure in all title pictures going forward, especially on the main roster where he will shine.
