Carmelo Hayes must win the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge

Ever since Carmelo Hayes joined NXT, he has proven that he belongs in the WWE. The moment Hayes won the NXT Breakout Tournament in 2021, the sky became the limit. Hayes would go on and become a two-time NXT North American Champion and the final NXT Cruiserweight Champion.

Hayes’ next big match will take place at NXT: Deadline, where he will be part of the first-ever Men’s Survivor Challenge. For him to win the Iron Survivor Challenge, he must go through four other opponents. These opponents are JD McDonagh, Grayson Waller, Joe Gacy, and Axiom. Now that Hayes is no longer in the NXT North American Championship picture, maybe it is time for him to move on to bigger and better things. It may be time for Hayes to start chasing the NXT Championship.

Although most fans believe that Hayes should jump to WWE’s main roster soon, there is so much Hayes can still do for the NXT brand. Winning the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge could be the start for Hayes to reach for the stars. At the moment, it is unsure when the Iron Survivor Winners will receive an opportunity at their respective championships.

If Hayes does come out as Iron Survivor, maybe he can challenge for the NXT Championship during WrestleMania season, which would take place at NXT: Stand and Deliver. A win for Hayes that night would be an even bigger moment for the NXT brand since it has been a long time since the NXT Championship changed hands. An NXT Championship win for Hayes would also solidify his career at NXT before he goes to either RAW or SmackDown sometime in 2023.
