WWE has an opportunity to unleash a big babyface run for Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali is a prime example of a wrestler who is always willing to overcome any obstacle that gets in his way. He never fails to lose perseverance. Throughout the years, fans have seen Mustafa Ali go through lots of character development. Whether it was being the leader of a once villainous group, RETRIBUTION, or being the underdog babyface that he’s best known for, Ali knows how to deliver and move the fans.

At one point, Ali was booked to receive a push by chasing the WWE Championship back in 2019, Due to a real-life injury, plans were deferred for Ali. Currently, Ali is in an angle on RAW, where he is constantly receiving beatdowns from wrestlers such as Austin Theory and Bobby Lashley.

Mustafa Ali has never won a championship in WWE

The year 2023 would be a perfect time for Ali to win championship gold. Now wouldn’t be the best time because WWE’s current champions are at their highest momentum. Intercontinental Champion, WALTER is undefeated on the main roster and has performed well as champion. WWE’s current biggest star and top champion, Roman Reigns, has other stars targeting him, while United States Champion Austin Theory is in the middle of a repackaged persona.

What WWE should do is maintain Ali’s angle and take their time with it. WWE can do a story where Ali doesn’t give up on getting hit rock bottom. As time would go on, Ali can get that push he rightfully deserves. It can happen a little after WrestleMania season. With the speculation of WWE having a draft after WrestleMania, it’s unknown what show Ali could end up in. By that time, hopefully, WWE will be ready to not only have Ali chase for the Intercontinental or United States Championship but also win some sort of championship gold.
