WWE Raw Predictions For January 16, 2023: Omos Will Join Hurt Business
By Mark Justice
WWE Raw is on the road to WWE Royal Rumble 2023. In this week’s episode of WWE Raw, there are no scheduled matches.
However, WWE did tease the next steps for Bobby Lashley after he got reinstated from his suspension due to some assistance from MVP. He announced himself to be in the Royal Rumble and seems to have unfinished business with Seth Rollins and U.S. Champion Austin Theory. It will be interesting to see how “The Almighty” handles business tonight.
In terms of the upcoming PPV, Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is scheduled. It is very likely that Usos (c) vs. Judgment Day for the Raw Tag Titles will be added to the card as well after Judgment Day won a tag gauntlet in the main event of last week’s episode of WWE Raw.
The following will provide some rapid-fire predictions for what should be an exciting episode of WWE Raw.
WWE Raw is scheduled to take place on January 16, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on the USA Network. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.
What is Next For Bobby Lashley?
On this week’s WWE Raw, Bobby Lashley will return from his suspension, which was caused by attacking a WWE official and getting into a scuffle with Adam Pearce. Thanks to MVP’s persuasive tactics, Pearce reinstated Lashley. This is a key sign that MVP is trying to reunite the Hurt Business and make it up to Lashley for betraying him several months back.
It should take a while for Lashley to trust MVP again, but WWE could include not only Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin in this faction but also Omos. Since he has been working with MVP and his singles career did not kick off as well as WWE hoped, he could be a bodyguard for the Hurt Business instead. Adding a new element to this faction would keep things fresh.
Prediction: Hurt Business Reunion (w/Omos)
What is Next For Judgment Day?
On last week’s WWE Raw, Judgment Day won a tag gauntlet in the main event to become the number one contenders for ONLY the Raw Tag Titles. Usually, the Undisputed Tag Team Championship is defended in the same title match by the Usos, but the WWE decided to abruptly separate the Raw and SmackDown tag title defenses.
While a tournament is playing out on SmackDown to determine the next number one contender for the SmackDown Tag Titles for a match at a later date, Judgment Day will likely get their Raw Tag Title shot against the Usos at the Rumble. If WWE is insistent on separating the tag divisions again, Judgment Day will likely win the belts and defend against Street Profits at ‘Mania.
Prediction: Raw Tag Title Shot Against Usos at the Rumble
