Three surprise names for WWE 2k23 that would shock fans

WWE has long embraced cultural superstars and these three individuals would be big additions to WWE 2k23. 

Professional wrestling video games are the perfect medium for enthusiasts to live out their fantasies as some of the biggest names in the industry. WWE is enjoying a rebirth of the 2k platform, with WWE 2k23 expected to launch on March 17. As the roster is being announced, fans are watching closely to see which individuals are in the base game versus downloadable content in the future. Guests like Bad Bunny are already set for the game, but what other “special” guests could make their appearance in WWE 2k23? Here is a list of three individuals that would be a dream addition to the game.

LeBron James

LeBron James is one of the most important basketball players of this generation. He’s achieved multiple accolades, including winning championships in Miami, Cleveland, and Los Angeles. On February 7 he snatched away one of the most important records in the NBA when he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the league’s all-time scoring leader. James is an individual that fans will either love to play with or love to smash him through tables and with steel chairs. He remains one of the most divisive icons in sports and would fit right into the over-the-top nature of professional wrestling.

Cardi B

Cardi B is a name that has shown up in similar lists multiple times. Not only is she one of the most important female musicians today, but she’s also a big professional wrestling fan. All too often, her tweets about either WWE or AEW catch the eyes of fans and wrestlers alike. WWE used her music to promote a recent SummerSlam, and many speculated that she would be involved in that show. While she’s yet to show up on a WWE show, the company should find out a way to make that happen so they can bring her into the game in the future.

Lionel Messi

Just like LeBron James, Lionel Messi is an icon of the sports world. He ended his career in 2022 in fairytale fashion when he led Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup in a come-from-behind fashion. That was the perfect way to close out a career that includes a slew of other awards. Fans will debate whether Messi is the greatest soccer player to ever step on the pitch without a true answer, but at least they will be able to see how he’d fair as a professional wrestler if he was added to WWE 2k23.
