Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens versus The Usos should headline WrestleMania 39 Night One
The tag team division should be the focus of night one at WrestleMania 39 with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens taking on The Usos in the main event.
WrestleMania 39 is on the horizon, and the card is slowly coming together. Roman Reigns is expected to headline the second day, and that makes perfect sense with a show of this magnitude. But what will headline Night One? With the way The Bloodline angle is shaping up, The Usos should be front and center at the end of the first night and their opponents should be none other than Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
The Bloodline story has been some of the best work in professional wrestling in years. What started as the long-requested heel turn for Reigns has now encapsulated the entire family. Fans may have wanted The Rock to burst through the door to set up a big WrestleMania matchup, but what the WWE has delivered instead is perhaps more impactful.
Sami Zayn’s rise to be included in The Bloodline has come and gone. But the focus has shifted as to whether Jey Uso will leave with him.
Jey, Roman’s original foil, knows the pain of Reigns’s gaslighting and physical violence firsthand. Will he take the steps to oppose Reigns the same way Zayn has done, or will he fall back in line – deciding to side with the devil he knows as family rather than break out on his own.
That’s the story that is being told today.
But many are predicting the outcome will see Jey go full Anakin Skywalker and side with the Sith. As Zayn prepares to challenge Reigns at Elimination Chamber for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, the opportunity is right there for Jey to turn on Zayn, allowing The Bloodline to decimate the Canadian star.

Perhaps it is during this beatdown that fans get the perfectly-timed reunion between Zayn and Owens, as they set their sights on The Usos.
The outcome of this match benefits the entire division
The WWE tag team division struggled under the eye of Vince McMahon. With Triple H in charge, the division has seen improvements, but there is still a lack of teams that look like true challengers to The Usos. Zayn and Owens immediately remedy that problem and are a duo that fans are behind well enough to push them over the top. Seeing them finally capture the titles as a duo at WrestleMania 39 would be the definition of a “WrestleMania Moment.”
Putting the belts on Owens and Zayn immediately helps the rest of the division as well. It creates fresh feuds and matches for the future, which is what the division needs. The Usos dominated the division for so long, that putting any team against them was a predictable outcome because they’ve faced each other in nearly some iteration in the past. That isn’t the case this time around. Owens and Zayn against any team is a new angle that could lead to new champions at any given moment, making every duo a credible threat in their own right. This is a feeling the division has long needed.
Fans may want Sami Zayn to defeat Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber, but that outcome seems far from possible. That doesn’t mean Zayn will not get to stand in the spotlight at WrestleMania 39, as he and Kevin Owens knocking off The Usos should be the headlining match of Night One.
