Three challengers for Roman Reigns post WWE Draft
Roman Reigns stands tall as the Undisputed Champion and these three men could be foils post WWE-Draft.
Now that the WWE Draft has officially come into full effect, there is a fresh start on the SmackDown roster. With Roman Reigns still the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the draft has brought out new potential challengers for The Tribal Chief. With The Bloodline by his side, it will be an arduous task for who they could go up against. With the World Heavyweight Championship heading to the RAW brand, the sky is the limit for the SmackDown roster as to who can be possible contenders for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Here are three post-draft challengers for Roman Reigns.
AJ Styles
With AJ Styles recently making his return from an ankle injury, he has made his intentions clear by declaring his chase of becoming World Heavyweight Champion. Even if Styles doesn’t succeed in winning the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions, he can always set his sights on Reigns, who he has never beaten before since he joined the WWE. A rivalry between Styles and Reigns could rebuild their initial feud in 2016, but this time, accompanied by The Usos and Solo Sikoa, while Styles has Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Mia Yim of The OC. Whether this possible match takes place at Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, or later, AJ has enough time to go against Reigns.
Bobby Lashley
If there is one draft pick SmackDown received that is going to shake the brand up, it’s The All Mighty, Bobby Lashley. For the first time since 2006, Lashley is now part of the SmackDown roster. With his presence on the blue brand, no one is safe, not even The Tribal Chief. Lashley is in the small list of people who have beaten Roman Reigns cleanly and convincingly. Reigns and Lashley’s most recent interaction falls back to two years ago on RAW where they competed in a triple-threat match involving Big E. With Reigns being the victor that night by pinning The Almighty, Lashley has a score to settle. Statistically in one on one matches, Lashley and Reigns are tied to one apiece.
Sheamus
The Celtic Warrior is also someone who could be a possible challenger for Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Sheamus is also someone who has unresolved issues with The Bloodline. It was at Survivor Series WarGames where The Bloodline got the upper hand on Sheamus and the rest of his teammates. In championship matches, Sheamus and Reigns have quite a history as they would go back and forth for the WWE Championship in 2015. Since Reigns has been on top, Sheamus still hasn’t received a title shot against The Tribal Chief.
