WWE Raw Predictions: Ronda Rousey Will Revitalize The Tag Division

WWE Raw is on the road to WWE MITB 2023. On this week’s Memorial Day episode of WWE Raw, there is one scheduled match: Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi Blackheart vs. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Bayley & Iyo Sky vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville for the vacant women’s tag team championship.
WWE has also promised MITB Qualifying Matches to take place on this episode. It has been rumored that Raw superstars like Cody Rhodes, Matt Riddle, Gunther, Judgment Day, and even Chad Gable will be considered for the MITB Ladder Match.
With that being addressed, the following will provide some rapid-fire predictions for what should be an exciting episode of WWE Raw.
WWE Raw is scheduled to take place on May 29, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on the USA Network. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.
Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi Blackheart vs. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Bayley & Iyo Sky vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville [Women’s Tag Team Championship]
Due to Liv Morgan’s shoulder injury that will put her on the shelf for eight months or so, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan had to relinquish the tag titles. Now that the titles are vacant, the WWE has now booked a fatal four-way match for the titles.
Since Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville are a jobber tag team and Damage Control is on the verge of dissension, the only two teams who have a chance of winning here are Raquel Rodriguez and her new tag team partner and replacement for Liv Morgan, Shotzi Blackheart, and Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler.
The latter team will win the titles because they recently returned to action to capitalize on the #1 contender’s spot they earned at the WrestleMania 39 showcase. Raquel and Shotzi are on different brands, so it’s likely that their tandem is merely temporary.
Other than KC^2, Rousey and Baszler are the only legitimate tag team in this division. They work very well together due to their chemistry on the microphone and synchronized MMA-style techniques in the ring. They should do wonders in putting this depleted tag division back on the map.
Prediction: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler
TBD vs. TBD [MITB Qualifying Matches]
WWE has officially announced that MITB Qualifying Matches are set to begin this week. They have not yet announced who will be in the matches. However, there are rumors pertaining to who WWE is considering to be in the MITB Ladder Match.
Since Rhodes might be dealing with injuries from his fight with Brock Lesnar and Judgment Day has unfinished business with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, it is likely that Gunther and Riddle will qualify for MITB on this episode, especially after seeds have been planted for a future Intercontinental Title match between them. They could spice things up in the ladder match before SummerSlam.
As for the Women’s MITB Ladder Match, nothing has been rumored pertaining to the participants. However, Raquel Rodriguez has been rumored as the runner-up favorite to win the Women’s MITB Ladder Match. Since she is in the tag title match on this episode, it is likely she won’t qualify for MITB until next week or the following week.
It is more likely that Becky Lynch and Zoey Stark will qualify for MITB on this episode, especially after their new-founded rivalry from their interactions with Trish Stratus. They could also spice things up in the ladder match before SummerSlam.
