WWE SmackDown Predictions: LA Knight Will Move The Needle

WWE SmackDown is on the road to WWE MITB 2023. In this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, there are two scheduled matches: LA Knight vs. Montez Ford in a MITB Qualifying Match and Zelina Vega vs. Lacey Evans in a MITB Qualifying Match. It has already been rumored that SmackDown superstars like LA Knight, Bobby Lashley and Edge will be considered as top participants for the MITB Ladder Match.

WWE has also promised Roman Reigns’ 1000-day title reign celebration to take place on this episode. Since he and Sikoa lost the tag title match to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn due to dissension with Usos, it will be interesting to see how The Bloodline fares out going forward. It might be more of a disaster than a celebration because it has been rumored that Reigns and Sikoa will battle Usos in a tag team match at MITB in July.

With that being addressed, the following will provide some rapid-fire predictions for what should be an exciting episode of WWE SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on June 2, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on the USA Network. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.

LA Knight vs. Montez Ford [MITB Qualifying Match]

WWE scheduled a MITB Qualifying Match between LA Knight and Montez Ford. Although this would be an amazing opportunity for Ford to break out as a singles star, LA Knight will win this qualifying match because he is heavily rumored to be the favorite to win the MITB Ladder Match, especially after the crowd reactions and loud pops he has received recently. Those reactions have not gone unnoticed for LA Knight, who seems to be on the biggest push of his career.

Prediction: LA Knight

Zelina Vega vs. Lacey Evans [MITB Qualifying Match]

WWE scheduled a MITB Qualifying Match between Zelina Vega and Lacey Evans. Although this would be a good opportunity for Lacey Evans to solidify the build up from her monthly vignettes, Zelina Vega will win this qualifying match because she is more heavily featured on SmackDown as a prominent member of LWO and she could redeem herself with a MITB victory after losing to Rhea Ripley at BackLash in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
