WWE Raw is finalizing its road to WWE SummerSlam 2023, which already has a plethora of rumored blockbuster matches. On this week’s go-home episode of WWE Raw, two matches are planned. In terms of segments, Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar are advertised to be under one roof and Logan Paul and Ricochet are advertised to go viral, so expect something special for those feuds. However, after the epic contract signing last week, nothing has been said about Finn Balor. That’s suspicious and could only mean one thing: Goldberg is near.

In other news regarding WWE Raw, it is expected that Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Raquel Rodriguez for the women’s title and Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus will be announced for SummerSlam on this episode. Becky Lynch defeated Zoey Stark to get her rematch against Stratus, and Rodriguez will want revenge for Ripley’s vicious attacks on her tag partner, Liv Morgan. Also, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler as well as Gunther and Drew McIntyre will continue their riveting feuds  respectively en route to the biggest event of the summer.

The following will focus on the idea of Goldberg replacing Finn Balor in his world title match with Seth Rollins on the road to WWE SummerSlam 2023.

WWE Raw is scheduled to take place on July 31, 2023, live on the USA Network, and Goldberg will replace Finn Balor en route to SummerSlam.

It is pretty suspicious that there is no advertisement regarding Finn Balor on the go-home show before SummerSlam. It’s almost as if that contract signing last week was premature. Now, Vince McMahon is back in the fold and he usually books blockbuster SummerSlam main events. From a storyline perspective, Finn Balor makes the most sense to be Seth Rollins’ opponent, especially since he was Rollins’ opponent in SummerSlam 2016 when they first battled for a world title. This is where this feud stems from basically.

However, why did WWE book this at MITB if it knew it would happen at SummerSlam? Isn’t it a tad lame that Seth Rollins has not had any new opponents other than Finn Balor since winning the world title? Henceforth, it is a underhwleming that Rollins would have that same opponent for SummerSlam despite the storyline undertones. From a business perspective, there has to be a swerve, and Goldberg will replace Balor. On a big stage like SummerSlam, there has to be a dream match and Seth Rollins (c) vs. Goldberg is a dream match many fans will want to see.

In fact, it has just been announced that Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn will battle Damian Priest and Dominick Mysterio of the Judgment Day without Finn Balor at ringside. Where is Finn Balor? He’s not advertised anywhere. It looks like Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn will win this bout, leading to a huge Goldberg return. The crowd will go absolutely nuts in the Toyota Center. Nothing on that SummerSlam card can top a Seth Rollins vs. Goldberg dream match. It will attract all the casual fans, which is befitting for a big 4 PPV, especially the biggest event of the summer.
