WWE SummerSlam 2023 Full Match Card Predictions: Iyo Sky Will Cash In On Asuka

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Raquel Rodriguez [WWE Women’s World Championship]
Rhea Ripley will retain the WWE Women’s Title against Raquel Rodriguez because Ripley is the top monster heel with Judgment Day in this division and she can’t lose that title now. She will work the injured leg Rodriguez sustained after getting attacked by Ripley in the backstage area before losing her tag titles to Chelsea and Sonya. The only major threat to Ripley’s title reign is Becky Lynch, and that’s because she is booked like a champion even without the title. Nonetheless, this should be some solid redemption for Ripley since she lost to Rodriguez in their NXT feud.

Asuka (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair [WWE Women’s Championship]
Anyone would be remiss to neglect the fact that Charlotte Flair can win this title match to stat pad her title reigns. On the other hand, Bianca Belair is definitely not going to win the title back that quickly after already holding it for 400+ days. Asuka is the anomaly here. She is usually booked as a transitional, placeholder champion. However, after Bianca and Charlotte earned tag title shots by pinning the tag champs, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville, on SmackDown, it seems that they will actually become tag champs in the fall and build to their inevitable feud going into 2024.
By process of elimination, Asuka will retain with one caveat. She won’t walk out of SummerSlam with the title because Iyo Sky will cash in her MITB contract on Asuka to win the WWE Women’s Title. She has teases it way too much in recent weeks to not deliver on it now.
Prediction: Ms. MITB Iyo Sky
