WWE SmackDown Predictions: Goldberg Will Replace John Cena

WWE SmackDown is finalizing its road to WWE FastLane 2023, which is now has three ongoing SmackDown feuds coming to fruition on the match card: John Cena and LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, Iyo Sky (c) vs. Charlotte vs. Asuka for the WWE Women’s Championship, and LWO vs. Street Business. On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Dragon Lee is scheduled for his main roster debut against Austin Theory. LA Knight, instead of The Rock, replaced AJ Styles last week, but what if someone replaced John Cena? Someone like Bill Goldberg, perhaps?

In the past few weeks of WWE SmackDown, WWE has been replacing superstars left and right in this scheduled tag team match involving John Cena vs. The Bloodline. With the Saudi Arabian PPVs coming up, John Cena does not usually attend those and he could also be replaced in the tag match by a man who has a ton of FastLane history, specifically at FastLane 2017 where he won the Universal Title… Goldberg. By defeating the Bloodline with LA Knight, Goldberg will finally finish the story and his career in a big title match with Roman next month at Crown Jewel.

With that being said, the following will focus on the announced match and the idea of Goldberg replacing John Cena on the road to WWE FastLane 2023.

WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on October 6, 2023, live on FOX, and Goldberg will replace John Cena en route to WWE FastLane 2023.

Austin Theory vs Dragon Lee [Main Roster Debut Match]

Dragon Lee will defeat Austin Theory because this is his main roster debut and it would be a smooth transition for him into the LWO, which he teased joining last week. Austin Theory got momentum for this match by defeating Cameron Grimes last week, but he can take the loss in this match, as his singles career has diminished recently and been relegated to a tag team career with Grayson Waller. Rey Mysterio vaguely challenged Street Business to a match at FastLane without indicating who from LWO will battle them. Insert Rey, Santos, and Lee, and that’s the team.
