WWE SmackDown Season Premiere is kickstarting its road to Survivor Series, which is starting to shape up with some blockbuster War Games matches pertaining to any ongoing SmackDown feuds, especially LWO vs. Street Business. On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns will return with a lot to say regarding the state of The Bloodline and most likely the revelation of his next challenger. Pretty Deadly will battle Brawling Brutes in their return from injury. Also, Triple H is set to appear this week and will likely make a major announcement.

In other news regarding WWE SmackDown, Carlito is back, as he saved LWO in their numbers game against Street Business at FastLane. Iyo Sky successfully yet nefariously retained her title by surprisingly pinning Charlotte Flair in their triple threat match with Asuka, thanks to a key distraction by Bayley even though Iyo did not want help. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller are feuding the nascent alliance of Dragon Lee and Cameron Grimes. Finally, John Cena and LA Knight finally avenged The Bloodline at FastLane, and rumors are stirring as to who is next for Roman.

With that being said, the following will focus on the announced match for WWE SmackDown and the idea of John Cena NOT challenging Roman Reigns on the road to WWE Survivor Series 2023.

WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on October 13, 2023, live on FOX, and John Cena will NOT challenge Roman Reigns en route to WWE Survivor Series 2023.

Roman Reigns Returns [Segment]

Roman Reigns will return for the Season Premiere, and he will reprimand Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa for losing to John Cena and LA Knight. He might even reprimand Paul Heyman for acknowledging Rhea Ripley of the Judgment Day. The Undisputed Tag Champions, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, will undoubtedly interrupt this segment to tease the tensions between Jey and Jimmy as well as the idea of “finishing the story” since they’re allowed on SmackDown now, thanks to the tag titles. However, the one guy who will challenge Reigns for the world title is NOT John Cena.

It will not even be LA Knight, who has also been in the rumors to challenge Reigns next. That would just hinder his momentum, as he needs to continue picking up wins and win a mid card title before moving up to the main event scene. The man who will challenge Reigns will be AJ Styles, who was subjected to a heinous attack by The Bloodline and still needs his revenge. For the first time since Extreme Rules 2016, Styles will step into the ring with Roman Reigns and challenge him for the world title. He will be a stepping stone for Reigns as Reigns moves onto the Rumble.

Prediction: AJ Styles Challenges Roman Reigns

Pretty Deadly vs. Brawling Brutes [Tag Match]

Pretty Deadly will defeat Brawling Brutes because they are returning from injury and need their first win back. It would be asinine if they lost after all those promos packagaes. They were feuding with Brawling Brutes before they got injured so they can finally get revenge in this long term feud.

Prediction: Pretty Deadly

Triple H Appearance [Segment]

Triple H will appear and hype up the SmackDown Season Premiere. Hopefully, that’s not all he’s there to do. He did interact with Jade Cargill at FastLane, so there’s a chance that he announces Jade Cargill’s debut for either the SmackDown Premiere or the upcoming Raw Premiere.

Prediction: Triple H Will Announce Jade Cargill’s Debut
