WWE Raw Predictions: Randy Orton Will Replace Seth Rollins
By Mark Justice
WWE Raw is continuing its road to WWE Survivor Series 2023, which is shaping up with some War Games matches pertaining to any ongoing Raw feuds, especially involving Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn vs. Judgment Day. On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, three matches have been officially scheduled: Judgment Day (c) vs. Cody Rhodes and Main Event Jey Uso for the Undisputed Tag Titles, Tegan Nox vs. Piper Niven, and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Otis. Also, will Randy Orton replace someone on that babyface war games team (i.e. Seth Rollins)?
In other news regarding WWE Raw, Zoey Stark won a women’s battle royal to become the number one contender for the World Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley at Survivor Series. The Miz won a fatal four way match against Ivar, Ricochet, and Bronson Reed to become the number one contender for the InterContinental Title against Gunther at Survivor Series. The Miz did have a controversial finish with Ivar in that match, as Mix pinned Reed whilst Ivar pinned Ricochet. It will be interesting to see if WWE follows up on that controversial finish on this week’s episode.
With that being said, the following will focus on the three announced matches and the idea of Randy Orton replacing Seth Rollins on the road to WWE Survivor Series 2023.
WWE Raw is scheduled to take place on November 13, 2023, live on USA, and Randy Orton will replace Seth Rollins en route to WWE Survivor Series 2023.
Judgment Day (c) vs. Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso [Undisputed Tag Team Championships]
Judgment Day will retain the Undisputed Tag Titles against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso because it would be nonsensical to hot potato the titles between these two teams.Cody and Jey dethroned Judgment Day and lost the titles back to Judgment Day two weeks later. If Judgment Day actually loses the titles back to Cody and Jey again, this show would be up a creek without a paddle. DIY will be the team who dethrones Judgment Day whilst Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso focus on singles titles going forward after ending the Judgment Day at Survivor Series War Games.
However, the main goal of this title match will be for Drew McIntyre to solidify his secretive backstage conversations with Judgment Day by attacking Seth Rollins backstage, long enough to distract Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso into losing this title match. As payback for losing to Rollins in their world title match, Drew’s attack will be so ruthless that Rollins won’t be able to compete at Survivor Series. This will leave one spot open on the babyface War Games Team for Randy Orton to return and help his Legacy pal, Cody, slay the Judgment Day at Survivor Series once and for all.
Prediction: Judgment Day
Tegan Nox vs. Piper Niven [Grudge Match]
Tegan Nox will defeat Piper Niven because she just returned from her minor injury and needs to win on her return to the ring. She and her tag partner, Natalya, also need to set up a tag title match for Survivor Series, where they can finally become tag champions and solidify this recent Tegan Nox push with gold around her waist. The women’s tag titles have not been on PPV in quite some time. Since Survivor Series is purportedly the final main roster PPV of the year, now would be a good time to pull the trigger on reigniting any prestige those tag titles hae left.
Prediction: Tegan Nox
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Otis [Grudge Match]
Shinsuke Nakamura will defeat Otis because he is redeeming himself from his consecutive title match losses to Seth Rollins and is still developing his nascent heel character with eerie promos in the backstage area. Some of these promos are actually alluding to someone “setting him free.” As many wrestling fans know, the Cult of Personality theme song by Living Colour, which is synonymous with CM Punk, has lyrics that say “only you can set me free.” Also, Nakamura even delivered the GTS to Rollins back at FastLane in October.
Now that WWE is officially starting the build to Survivor Series, Nakamura will finally call out CM Punk after all of these teases and references. With Survivor Series being in Chicago this year, it’s only a matter of time… it’s clobbering time.
Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura
