3 achievements to hit for WWE in 2025
WWE is heading into 2025 with a mountain of momentum behind the company. 2024 was a huge business year, achieving so many new fronts. Looking forward to the next twelve months, here are three achievements both on the camera and behind it, that the promotion should look to achieve to keep things rolling.
Mexico City Event
International PLEs has been one of the major successes in 2025. WWE took to cities like Berlin and London to host huge shows, putting on great cards while getting site fees that generated revenue for the company. One place that has come up as a potential location is Mexico City, which would be a great spot to host a PLE in the next year. WWE has several stars on its roster who could be featured in such an event. Names like Rey and Dominick Mysterio, Andrade, and Santos Escobar immediately stand out. Then there are those tangentially linked because of their Latino heritage like Damian Priest and Zelina Vega. It would be a chance to create a great event for a big part of the WWE Universe.
Building the Women’s Mid-Card
Many are paying attention to what WWE does with the new WWE Women’s United States Championship and WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. On the main roster, the women’s division often felt like a stagnant group because the ladies were either suddenly in the title picture, or they weren’t on television. There wasn’t space for them to do more as individuals. These titles should be an opportunity to feature more performers like the current champion, Chelsea Green, Candice LeRae, Michin and others. They women need more time to be featured and this is the chance to make it happen.
Continued Partnerships With Other Companies
WWE surprised a lot of wrestling fans when the company partnered with other wrestling companies. The promotion was known to be widely isolationist in theory, but suddenly individuals from TNA were showing up on weekly WWE NXT events or their talent were traveling over to Japan for mini-excursions or special matches. Pro wrestling is better for all when companies start to work together so it will be interesting to see if WWE continues this trend in the new year. It would be pertinent to do so because it presents the company as a place open to new ideas which would be enticing to free agents looking for their next deal.
