Zelina Vega defeated Chelsea Green on the April 25 episode of WWE SmackDown, capturing the first solo championship of her career. Fans were elated with moment, showering her with “you deserve it” chants. But that moment left Green without her place as a title holder and she’s since hinted at leaving the company.

Green didn’t take the loss so well. She took to social media to post a picture of the US Capitol building in Washington, DC, with the US flag flying at half-mast. She posted “Goodbye for now WWE. This is my farewell address.”

This led to wild speculation online. Is Green playing up her loss like the great character she presented on television? Or is she hinting toward the idea she could actually leave the WWE once again?

Chelsea Green deserved to be on WrestleMania 41

Green is one of those beloved performers who takes everything offered to her and makes the most of it. That love for Green led to many to be upset when she was left off WrestleMania 41. She was the only singles champion not included on the PLE. The WWE Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, were also left off the show.

“At the end of the day, of course after a crazy year, the pinnacle is WrestleMania. So, I felt the want and the need for these titles to be on the show,” Green said while speaking to Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely. “I wanted them to be on the show. But at the end of the day, we only have so many hours and so many spots on the card.”

That’s the statement of a “good employee” as WWE had more than enough time to fit in matches for Green and The Street Profits. Hours of the two-night show was dedicated to advertising, celebrities, and more. A few of those precious moments could have gone to Green, who wasn’t featured on the show in any capacity.

Chelsea Green is a talented performer. Fans and her peers recognize she’s a key component to the WWE women’s division, filling a void that is rarely filled in women’s wrestling. Plus, if she were to leave Piper Niven and Alba Fyre would also feel the impact of her departure as their momentum would end. There’s no word on whether or not this is a real moment in pro wrestling, but Chelsea Green is a performer that fans want to see on the WWE roster.
