Halloween is a night usually reserved for a lot of excitement. Kids dress up in their costumes and go trick-or-treating through their neighborhoods, getting tons of candy from each house they visit. Adults hand out the candy to the kids, while some go to parties to have their own fun. This year, though, things will be different for some families. Halloween falls on a Friday this year. That means kids and adults get to watch Friday Night SmackDown after they've had their Halloween fun. This isn’t a pre-taped edition, like what they do when Christmas Day falls on a Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. A live Friday Night SmackDown allows WWE to go all out with their Halloween festivities.

WWE and Fans Can Take Advantage of Halloween Falling on a Friday

During the Halloween season, WWE always loves celebrating the holiday with several different traditions. In NXT, there is the annual Halloween Havoc premium live event. Many matches are Halloween-themed, with many wrestlers dressing up in costumes to wrestle. The same can be said for the NXT episode closest to the holiday as well. Raw and SmackDown also like to take part in the festivities. Several different gimmick matches are always held to commemorate spooky season, with decorations and costumes lighting up the night.

But this year is different. SmackDown actually falls on Halloween, which gives WWE the opportunity to really capitalize on what makes the holiday special. To really sell that this Friday is a live edition of SmackDown, everyone should dress up in costumes. Seeing Corey Graves and Michael Cole in costumes, as well as the referees, would be an entertaining sight. The potential for them to go viral if they dress up in something popular right now would be remembered for a long time. Wrestlers appearing on the show should also bring their costumes on Friday. Some backstage segments featuring them dressed up as superheroes, princesses, etc., could deliver some memorable interactions.

Halloween can also be an opportunity for WWE to change the stage and ring for one night only. Having a regular setup on October 31 would be a disappointment for the fans. There are so many ways they can do this. The ropes could be covered with spider webs or confetti, or simply black and orange colored. Fog and things like coffins and skeletons could litter the floor. When a wrestler walks out to their match, they would have to walk through a maze of creepy things, immersing themselves into holiday paraphernalia. Spider webs could also be added to the railways to give off spooky vibes.

Fans are the backbone of WWE shows. They yell, cheer, boo, and make matches entertaining. Since it’s Halloween night, they should get some audience participation points in the form of candy. Whether it’s the wrestlers or the commentators, some candy should be thrown their way. They’re willingly at SmackDown on Halloween. There’s no way they should be leaving the arena without some candy. A goodwill gesture would be for WWE to hand out candy throughout the show. That way the fans would feel appreciated for being at SmackDown on Halloween.

Many people celebrate Halloween in different ways. For WWE and their fans, they will celebrate at Friday Night SmackDown. Since the holiday actually falls on a Friday, many things should be done to make the experience memorable. From improving the stage to making sure everyone gets candy, transforming SmackDown for Halloween would be a great idea.
