In the closing moments of Night Two of SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar returned to repeatedly F5 one of his biggest rivals, John Cena. Following the show, Paul "Triple H" Levesque claimed Cena requested Lesnar return as part of his farewell tour. Lesnar’s last match was at SummerSlam in 2023 when he was defeated by current Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes.
Lesnar hasn’t been on WWE programming due to his name being in Janel Grant’s amended lawsuit. Lesnar is mentioned and cited in the lawsuit 44 times. Grant is a former WWE employee who alleges that she was abused by Vince McMahon and “used as a commodity”. She also says that McMahon attempted to sex traffick her to Lesnar when WWE wanted to re-sign him in 2021. He did eventually return to the company. Grant says that after agreeing to return, McMahon provided Lesnar with her personal cell phone number.
After receiving her number, Grant says Lesnar instructed her to make sexually explicit content for him and called her a derogatory term. He also attempted to make arrangements for a “play date” with Grant. He went to dinner with Grant and McMahon, but was so inebriated that McMahon sent him back on the plane. He also attempted to set up another encounter following an appearance at the Mohegan Sun. He sent her his hotel information, but a snowstorm prevented the encounter from occurring as did COVID-19.
In the amended lawsuit, Grant says McMahon also ordered Grant to fly to Greenville, SC “even if it’s just to C Brock.” She alledges he further tried to set up an encounter between Lesnar and Grant while Lesnar was at a live event at Madison Square Garden. This attempted setup happened after McMahon directed her to get an NDA. The amended lawsuit was accepted by the judge in May 2025.
Following the conclusion of SummerSlam, I reached out for a statement from Grant’s team. There was no statement at the time, but I was directed back to Grant’s lawsuit in regards to Lesnar.

On Monday afternoon, I received a statement from Grant’s spokesperson.
"For far too long, abuse was allowed to thrive under WWE's leadership. Instead of righting this wrong, WWE has done nothing to ensure those responsible are held accountable. This attempt to sweep misconduct under the rug will backfire. We look forward to the full set of facts, including those about Mr. Lesnar, coming out in a court of law where they belong but, in the meantime, we refer you back to Janel Grant’s updated complaint, which outlines, in detail, the abuse she endured by McMahon and others while employed at WWE."

While there are reports that Lesnar has been cleared by WWE's legal team, there has been no confirmation or a statement from Grant’s team. On Saturday, WWE said post-PLE press conferneces had been canceled moving forward. The status of Grant’s lawsuit remains the same at this time. Follow Daily DDT for the latest on this situation.
