Oba Femi is a future WWE World Champion

WWE has several young talents to keep an eye on. Names like Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratoon, and Je'Von Evans jump off the page. Then there's Oba Femi. The former WWE NXT North American Champion made a surprise return to the NXT Iron Survivor Match and took the victory. He's destined to not only NXT Champion, but a WWE World Champion in the future.

Youth is important in professional sports and sports entertainment. Oba Femi is a rare talent that fits the mold for exactly what WWE looks for in their roster. He's massive. Has personality. Jumps off the page. And he has a presence that makes fans immediately stop what they are doing and as "Who is that?" Seeing him step into the Iron Survivor match as a surprise entrant and win the entire thing makes so much sense for what WWE should have planned for his future, both short and long term.

Nearly two months passed since Femi was last seen in the WWE ring. He dropped the NXT North American Title to Tony D'Angelo and vanished from television. Many wondered what that meant for Femi, with some questioning if he was main roster bound. Before the NXT PLE, Fightful Select reported that Femi was enjoying time off in Nigeria, and that a source would be "shocked" if WWE had not extended a new deal to the 26 year old performer.

WWE has shown a willingness to strap the proverbial rocket to young talent. For example, look at what WWE is doing with Bron Breakker or Tiffany Stratton. The former is enjoying his second tenure as WWE Intercontinental Champion, while the latter is the current Women's Money in the Bank holder, practically cementing her place as a soon to be champion. Femi must get that same type of push when his time comes.

But before he has that moment, expect to see him be the man to unseat Trick Williams in NXT. While Williams is a "fun" champion who has the fanbase behind him, he has nothing on the momentum that Femi is currently enjoying. Femi being the one to knock off Williams would make perfect sense, and create the space for Williams to do other things in NXT before moving to the main roster. Femi should go on a year-long run once he grabs the championship, nothing only building his stature, but giving a boost to whoever finally defeats him.

Oba Femi is a perfect WWE signee. Not only will he hold the NXT Championship, but he has the makings of a WWE Champion in the future. You can bet the house on it.
