WWE has a roster stacked with some of the best performers in the world. One of them celebrated ten years with the company on August 12, 2024. That individual is Kevin Owens. It’s been ten years since the company announced his signing and he’s one that deserves all the praise heaped upon him. A decade later, Owens is still giving fans more than enough reminders that he’s one of the best in the world.

Owens has achieved so much during his tenure with the WWE. He’s been a multiple time champion, holding nearly every individual title available. But Owens is one of those performers for whom a list of titles just isn’t enough to describe his overall value to the industry. In many ways, he could be seen as perhaps the most valuable member of the men’s roster.

Think about it. Owens is one of the few names available that can be inserted into any angle and he’d figure out a way to make it make sense. This is a guy that can at one moment be thrown into The New Day while Big E was injured, and their comedy stylings didn’t miss a beat. He popped up on WWE NXT as a surprise team member to take part in NXT WarGames. He can take a promo battle against anyone, then put on one of the best matches available against any style. Kevin Owens can truly do it all when it comes to everything professional wrestling and sports entertainment.

What’s unfortunate is that Owens may never get his time at the top as “the guy” on either WWE main roster show. As both are built around individuals like Gunther, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns – it is hard to see how Owens can still get a moment to stand atop that mountain. That won’t stop fans from pushing for it, and he deserves the recognition that comes with it. Owens has a catalog packed with some of the best matches around, both in and out of WWE. But imagine if WWE built an entire main event championship program around a story that featured Kevin Owens versus Sami Zayn. That’s the type of magic fans want to see.

Professional wrestling is a business in which everyone can't be a champion. There aren’t enough titles or time to go around. Beloved individuals like might get a sniff of the spotlight, while others may never get a belt of their own. It’s an unfortunate constant of the industry and one that has claimed several names in the past. Kevin Owens is someone that fans still want to see on top, but that moment may be out of reach. Still, he deserves every bit of recognition as one of the best in the business today.
