WWE Raw is continuing its road to Backlash, and WWE has already confirmed one World Title Match for said PPV: Damian Priest (c) vs. Jey Uso for the World Title. Jey Uso earned this title shot by winning a Fatal Four Way Match against Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, and Bronson Reed and continued his momentum by defeating another member of Judgment Day in Finn Balor last week. Damian Priest won't lose his World Title in his first title defense, but it makes sense for Jey Uso to get this title shot since he did win a major singles match at Mania that should have title implications.

On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, three matches have been officially scheduled: Awesome Truth (c) vs. DIY for the World Tag Titles, Andrade & Ricochet vs. Judgment Day in a tag team match, and a recently announced Battle Royal to determine the new World Women's Champion after Rhea Ripley vacated the title last week. In terms of segments, Gunther is set to return to Raw for the first time after losing the IC Title to Sami Zayn at Mania 40. It will be interesting to see what his take is on the mid-card scene after Chad Gable executed a major heel turn on Sami Zayn in Montreal last week.

In other news regarding WWE Raw, this episode will be located in Columbus, Ohio, which is the hometown of Alexa Bliss. She has been rumored to return for quite a while now. As substantiated by CM Punk's return to his hometown of Chicago, the reception and pop for these returns are emphatic and memorable, so tonight would be a perfect return date for Bliss, especially right before the draft. There have been QR codes running around on Raw, so she could also be part of the Uncle Howdy storyline. Speaking of returns, Sheamus returned last week on Raw and got a big win over Ivar.

With that being said, the following will focus on the three announced matches and the idea of Alexa Bliss finally returning on the road to WWE Backlash 2024.

Women's Battle Royal [Vacant World Women's Title]

The two women who have the best chances of winning this high-stakes battle royal are Liv Morgan and Nia Jax, who have both been heavily involved in the main event scene of the Raw Women's Division and were the only ones interviewed about the vacant title situation last week on Raw. Since Liv Morgan is the one who took former world champ, Rhea Ripley, out of commission in this long-term revenge tour storyline, she has the best story to win the title and hold the title until Ripley returns from injury even though Nia Jax is the biggest, most formidable obstacle in her path to doing so.

Prediction: Liv Morgan

Andrade & Ricochet vs. Judgment Day [Tag Team Match]

Although Judgment Day is the legitimate tag team here, Andrade and Ricochet will defeat Dirty Dom and JD McDonagh of Judgment Day because they need to continue their momentum on their road to singles championship gold. It is peculiar that they have to win a tag match to elevate their singles career, but this is a temporary alliance merely because they have common enemies at the moment. Clearly, WWE is going through the motions a week away from the WWE Draft, so this tag match does not really have much meaning other than merely giving two mid-carders some solid momentum.

Prediction: Andrade & Ricochet

Awesome Truth (c) vs. DIY [World Tag Team Titles]

Awesome Truth will defeat DIY to retain the World Tag Team Titles because they only recently won the titles at Mania and need to solidify their reign in their first title defense against another top team. Conveniently, both teams have a superstar who is from the home state of Ohio (i.e. The Miz and Johnny Gargano), which is the location of this episode of WWE Raw. This feud has been eminently entertaining due to R-Truth calling DIY a modern-day version of Shawn Michaels and Triple H from D-Generation-X. DIY can still head to SmackDown in the draft and eventually dethrone Theory & Waller.

Prediction: Awesome Truth
