WWE Raw is coming off an epic WWE Bad Blood 2024 PLE Event, where CM Punk finally put Drew McIntyre to sleep inside Hell in a Cell, Liv Morgan retained the World Title against Rhea Ripley thanks to the surprising return of Raquel Rodriguez, and Damian Priest defeated Finn Balor as revenge for costing him the World Title against Gunther at SummerSlam. Now, WWE is continuing its road to WWE Survivor Series 2024, where they will likely have War Games Matches for both the men's and women's divisions. Those teams should become clearer, starting with this week's episode of Raw.

This week, three matches have been officially scheduled: Gunther (c) vs. Sami Zayn for the World Title, Sheamus vs. Peter Dunne in a Donnybrook Match, and Jey Uso (c) vs. Xavier Woods for the IC Title. In other news regarding WWE Raw, Seth Rollins returned last week to screw Bronson Reed in his Last Monster Standing Match against Braun Strowman in the main event as payback for the plethora of Tsunamis he sustained weeks ago. Pure Fusion Collective are still feuding with Zelina Vega and company. Also, Killer Kross not only elicited dissension in The New Day but also Awesome Truth.

With that being said, the following will focus on the two scheduled title matches, the Donnybrook Match, and the idea of Gunther burying Sami Zayn on the road to WWE Survivor Series 2024.

Gunther (c) vs. Sami Zayn [World Title]

Gunther will defeat Sami Zayn to retain the World Title because he needs to redeem himself from his WrestleMania 40 loss to Zayn and thereby solidify his title reign after winning it so recently from Priest at SummerSlam. Gunther has a big target on his back, as Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, CM Punk, and even Goldberg have a claim to his championship right now, as substantiated by recent events. Rollins and Priest both have rematch clauses for that title. Punk made it clear that he is targeting Gunther after he is finished with McIntyre. And finally, Goldberg already said that Gunther is NEXT.

Prediction: Gunther

Sheamus vs. Pete Dunne [Donnybrook Match]

Sheamus will defeat Pete Dunne in this Donnybrook Match to get revenge for his loss to Dunne in their match on Raw two weeks ago. This has been an ongoing feud due to their history in the Brawling Brutes. Dunne has not elucidated his reasons for betraying Sheamus, but it seems he felt overlooked in that group, especially when he was named Butch. If that is the case, Dunne is smart to make a name for himself against a former World Champion in Sheamus. However, Sheamus is more geared for future title opportunities in the mid card, as he still needs the IC Title to fulfill his Grand Slam.

Prediction: Sheamus

Main Event Jey Uso (c) vs. Xavier Woods [IC Title]

Speaking of the IC Title, Main Event Jey Uso will retain the IC Title against Xavier Woods because he just won the title from Bron Breakker a few weeks ago and needs a few title defenses under his belt before dropping it. Jey Uso needs to prove his worth as a singles champion with a mid-card belt first before he can make his way to world title contention. This IC Title run would be a great start for him, as it will help test the durability of his popularity as well as his capability to be a compelling champ for the long term. Woods is still in a transition period of turning heel, so his time to win the title is not now.

Prediction: Main Event Jey Uso
