It looks like Santos Escobar has taught the professional wrestling world the art of negotiation. The former NXT Cruiserweight Champion was the talk of the week as his contract came to an end on Monday. However, by Wednesday PWInsider reported that he'd signed a new deal to stay with the company.

MIke Johnson of PWInsider reported the following.

"PWInsiderElite.com can confirm that WWE and Santos Escobar have come to terms on a new deal and that he is back with the promotion, just days after his contract expired. We are told that WWE management considered Escobar's creative concerns and, we are told, made Escobar a sizeably larger offern than any of their previous overtures. At this point, Escobar agreed to terms. The belief is they came to an agreement late yesterday."

This is huge news, as the rumblings of Escobar's exit was one of the biggest stories this week. Not only was it big that WWE was potentially losing an uber talented, but underutilized performer, but this was yet another star who decided to walk away from the company due to either creative or financial concerns. Others like Killer Kross and Jazmyn Nyx recently made headlines for their exits, and Escobar was the latest name to do so.

It will be interesting to see how Santos Escobar is worked into the future of both WWE and AAA moving forward. He is a highly talented performer, and even though he's 41 years old, he's still a fresh face in the eyes of the WWE product. Outside of his run in WWE NXT, he hasn't had much time in the limelight, and perhaps that will change with this new contract.

That is especially true with AAA being a major project for WWE, as the company and TKO look to expand their stake in the global combat sports arena, with Mexico being a big target.
