Solo Sikoa and MFT have made a lot of enemies in the past couple of months. They’ve obviously had issues with the Wyatt Sicks. Many times they’ve met in the ring, but the only thing that came of their confrontations were staredowns. That seems like a smart move, mainly because they have drawn the rage of many other wrestlers during this time. For months, Sami Zayn has butted heads with Sikoa and MFT. Their rivalry has grown to include the Motor City Machine Guns and the team of Rey Fenix and Shinsuke Nakamura. It was announced on last Friday’s SmackDown that a Survivor Series elimination match would end their feud. After that, the camera panned to Uncle Howdy listening on. Fans have been wondering where the Wyatt Sicks were. They’ve simply been waiting in the shadows, which is the best course of action.
It’s clear that the Wyatt Sicks have been targeting MFT for weeks now. They could’ve attacked them weeks ago. Perhaps then the match would’ve featured them instead of Zayn and crew. But having too many enemies is a bad thing to have in professional wrestling. Interfering when it was clear Sikoa had problems with Zayn’s friends would’ve been a disaster. MFT probably could’ve taken on both of them at once, but it would’ve complicated the whole situation. The Wyatts would’ve had five more enemies that didn’t do anything to them. Backing off was the absolute right thing to do. Plus, Zayn just got cleared on Friday. He was waiting for weeks to get his hands on Sikoa. Clearing him in the middle of an MFT-Wyatt Sicks feud wouldn’t have made for good story progression regarding himself and MFT.
Combined together, the Wyatts have decades of experience in professional wrestling. When a group has that much experience, they tend to know exactly how things work in the business. Zayn returning evened the odds for his friends against MFT. It was inevitable that some type of match involving both factions was going to happen. With that being said, even if Sikoa and MFT lose, they’ll more than likely be beaten up from the match. Aside from Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis, the WWE Tag Team Champions, the other members haven’t wrestled on television for months. Gacy and Lumis themselves haven’t had a televised match in a month. They won’t be nearly as tired, which will pay off majorly if they attack immediately afterwards. Playing the waiting game will definitely have an advantage if this is the path they take once that feud is over.
Lots of decisions in professional wrestling are made because of timing. Things have to be done at the proper moment in order to make the greatest impact. If you turn someone heel or face or have someone attack someone too early or late, the whole storyline risks fizzling out instead of burning bright. That’s why what the Wyatt Sicks are doing could really pay off in the end. They know how intense the hatred is between MFT and Zayn and his crew. Allowing them to get their anger out without making their presence known helps them in big ways. Doing so would’ve risked making more enemies, with Zayn and crew potentially becoming collateral damage. Waiting also depletes MFT’s energy, as they have a huge match coming up next Friday. A healthy Wyatt Sicks could be the key to unlocking MFT’s weakness.
