There’s a lot of excitement and speculation raging about WrestleMania 41. The two-night event kicks off in a few hours, and fans want to know what is going to happen and who will win the biggest matches. Another question is starting to bubble up. Who will be there? And the who in question is none of than President Donald Trump. Fans, viewers, media members, and more are wondering if the current president will show up at the biggest spectacle in professional wrestling.
Some may think that’s an odd question to ask. The President of the United States should have a slew of other important matters to address. But this is 2025, where the bizarre world seems to happen on a daily basis.
Trump frequently attends UFC shows, particularly major PPVs. He recently brought members of his cabinet to UFC 314, which was held in Miami. The Ultimate Fighting Championship and mixed martial arts have become a strong support base for Trump and all things MAGA, much to the chagrin of many fans and media members.
President Donald Trump and WWE have decades-long relationship
Now, how does this relate to the WWE and WrestleMania 41? Well, Trump and the WWE have a long history together. Trump is in the WWE Hall of Fame for his contributions to the early days of the promotion. Vince McMahon partnered with Trump when the Trump Plaza hosted WrestleMania IV and V. He was also in Bobby Lashley’s corner when he took on Umaga at WrestleMania 23, who was backed by Vince McMahon.
Fast forward to 2025. McMahon is out for all the right reasons, but that doesn’t mean that Trump isn’t still linked to WWE. WWE and UFC were merged to form TKO Group Holdings. That connection is one of the reasons why many fans are wondering and concerned if Trump will show up on their screen at some time this weekend. Going even a layer further, Linda McMahon oddly the United States Secretary of Education.
Along with that, the media tour for WrestleMania 41 has turned political in a lot of ways. Triple H spoke highly of Trump during his appearance on The Flagrant Podcast. Roman Reigns was the main character of social media on Thursday when he revealed his support for Donald Trump. CM Punk is in the headlines on Friday for quotes going in the opposite direction. It’s an odd turn in topic at a time when WWE should be focused on all things positive, while keeping the “controversy” of politics out of the equation.
It is interesting to wonder what type of response Trump would receive. He’s typically cheered when he does his UFC appearances, but he was recently booed during one of his walkouts. Professional wrestling has a more diverse fan base than MMA, so do not be surprised if there are loud boos if he were to make an appearance during WrestleMania 41.
WWE has always been more sports entertainment than professional wrestling. President Donald Trump getting the red carpet rolled out for him to attend WrestleMania 41 would be yet another example. How would it go? That remains to be seen and there’s no answer yet if it will even happen.
